After playing bioshock i can now safely say that GoW2 is the best game of 2007 so far.For me nothing really comes close so far this year to the epic god of war 2.I think it can even win GOTY if we have a couple more high profile flops.
I dont' understand why people think GOTY should go to games that can be beaten in less than 10 hours ( No talking aobut bioshock)Marka1700
It really depends on how good that 10 hours is , but God of War II will take the average person at least 15 hours to beat and it is amazing all the way through.

having a good 10 hour game is better than having a crappy 20 hour one. quality over quantity. (when i said a crappy 20 hour game i WAS NOT referring to bioshock)
hopefully it can top the original which was an amazing game. im waiting for it to hit GH status,i have no need to run out and buy it now,it will be readily available for 20 bucks next summer.

God of War 2 can easily hold it's own against any of those games and it's a last gen game, it's not GOTY to me but just being mentioned in GOTY category in this "next gen" world, it's credit is due.

ratchet and clank ftw. man i love that series, me and my cousins played it NON STOP. i returning my xbox 360 to get a ps3 later thisseptember, just for rac. thats how much i like it. and of course there is blu-ray...
I think GOWII should be a GOTY contender, but it doesn't quite have the lasting power to get GOTY at the end of the year. I'm sure bioshock will be the same way in a few months also. Well have to see how a couple other games actually turn out but I'd be really surprised if either get GOTY.

Meh, I mean I thought GoW2 was great and all (though I haven't played Bioshock) but I just didn't get that same feeling that I did from the first one (mainly cause the ending was leading up to the third I guess). Anyway, I think Mass Effect will get it this year.
Bioshock was a breathe of fresh air in the crowded fps market. God of War 2 won't win because it's a sequel, which I don't see any sequels winning GOTY on GAMESPOT.
I haven't gotten my hands on Bioshock yet, but I think that GOW2 is definately one of the great games of the year. I'm not sure if it's GOTY material because it's on a last gen console and there are alot of great games coming out this year.

Super Paper Mario or God Of War II for me. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, too, if that counts. All three of those were amazing and deserve around the range of a 9.5 out of 10. God Of War II was only thirteen hours long, but that was three hours longer than its predessessor, which is good. It should've been a little bit longer, I felt. Still good, though.

Ironic how so many consoles today are trying to redefine gameplay when a last-generation game on a 6-year-old console has already done that and more. ^_^

You'll never complete the game on Titan mode i spent weeks trying with no lack. got 3/4 of the game but that was about it for me.
Man, I didn't even buy GoW 2 because I was so "impressed" by first one. It had potential but devs need a lot to learn before they could make a real hit.
