Because it makes sense from a business stand-point, God of War 2 has the potential to reach a lot more people on the PS2 than it does on the PS3 at the moment.TyrantDragon55yeah thats definitely a good point but still it aggravates me a little bit for some reason lol
Its kind of funny to me that sony had a chance to give the ps3 its first real, non multi-platform, quality game and they choose to release it on ps2. Why did they decide to do that?keepereio
Maybe because they dont want to leave their 100+ million PS2 owners hanging like Microsoft and Nintendo did.
yeah in like what... 2 years?? i would love to be playing it on the ps3 now but they are making me wait 2 years to play God of war on ps3?keepereioyou can play it on the PS3, if you really want to >_>

TP can still count as the last great game for the GC. Sony could have made 2 versions just like Tp - one for PS2 and one for PS3.[QUOTE="-Sir-Poof-"][QUOTE="keepereio"]Its kind of funny to me that sony had a chance to give the ps3 its first real, non multi-platform, quality game and they choose to release it on ps2. Believe that if you wish. Point being, no wii game looks better than a GC game at this point, and TP was nearly identical on both platforms. A GoW PS3 would need new re-done environments, character models, etc. People Aren't going to spend 59.99 on a PS3 game that looks like a PS2 game, especially with BC, While Wii owners really don't care, both consoles look the same (GC actually looks better as of now) so the only diffence they want is the motion sensing, price is the same too[QUOTE="TheCrimsonKoopa"][QUOTE="TrueReligion_"][QUOTE="keepereio"]yeah in like what... 2 years?? i would love to be playing it on the ps3 now but they are making me wait 2 years to play God of war on ps3?StealthStingyou can play it on the PS3, if you really want to >_>

That would've sparked ps3 sales big time..MTBaretheres a big bifference in the two games. sony could have made the devs put gow2 on ps3. however, ffxii is not being developed by a sony team. square can do whatever they want.
Because it makes sense from a business stand-point, God of War 2 has the potential to reach a lot more people on the PS2 than it does on the PS3 at the moment.TyrantDragon55So would just about any other game. If Sony cant take a risk and develop a good game for their own system, then why should anyone else? Look what we got from Sony first party so far ; NBA'07, Genji and Untold Legends.

True to an extent. Still GoW2 has been in development for a very long time and at the time they decided to concentrate on pushing the PS2 capabilities not the PS3. I take a look at the recent videos and reviews and I find myself excited to play it. Not sad because it did not come to the PS3. People usually complain about support when the new console of that said brand arrives. So, why is this such a bad thing?

The game is fun and looks pretty good, but, it does look dated now, sad to say. Im sure the ps3 was in development as long as GOW2, kind of side by side. It should have been a natural fit with the launch of PS3. Short sighted on Sonys part as far as im concerned. Yeah, they want to make money on the game and sell it to millions of ps2 owners, but what better game to kick boost the sales of their expensive new hardware system, huh?
