Help me out here.
I own a 360, Wii and PS2. I am kind of caught up in the current gen games but hooking up the old ps2 for God of War 2 seems worth it. I am a Virtua Fighter fanboy and never played Dead or Alive.
Which one would you get.

You really don't want to play a Dead or Alive game after playing a Virtua Fighter. UNLESS, you're bad at fighters and need a buttons smasher, Dead or Alive would be a good choice. I'd go with God of War 2. Never played the first one though. majadamusPerhaps he wants to play a bona fide next gen fast fighting game with vast interactive stages, spectacular moves and online play, in which case GOW2 and VF5 are useless.

DOA is better than any PS fighter imo, but I think it's not for cows. They should stick with their limited fighters and leave the next gen stuff for next gen console owners.Perhaps he wants to play a bona fide next gen fast fighting game with vast interactive stages, spectacular moves and online play, in which case GOW2 and VF5 are useless.[QUOTE="CarlosPontinas"][QUOTE="majadamus"]You really don't want to play a Dead or Alive game after playing a Virtua Fighter. DoA series is the Marvel vs. Capcom series of 3D fighters. If you're into fighters you know what I'm talking about.[QUOTE="LordoverFeind"]If you like OLD STYLE fighters then go with vf5 but a game like gow2 is a very rare treat so personally I would grab that.CarlosPontinasfixed

DoA series is the Marvel vs. Capcom series of 3D fighters. If you're into fighters you know what I'm talking about. You need to redefine the term "fighters". last I heard Marvel vs Capcom was a 90s title. That's the trouble with most "fighter" lovers. They live in the past.DOA series is a new style of fighting game and imo it's a better style.
That's your opinion. In mine even DOA2 outclassses VF5

I don't see how DoA is a "new style of fighting" when both MvC and DoA series are both button smashing fun. Not saying it's bad. But, it hardly requires any skill. I play my cousin in MvC 2, I get beat...sometimes... Play my friends in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and almost never get beaten. It's almost vice versa when it comes to 3d fighters. Me and my cousin go at it in and we're evenly skilled in DoA because it's an easy to pick up fighter and requires hardly any skill. Virtua Fighter, it's different. He pwns my ass because he's been playing since the Playstation days.fixedThat's your opinion. In mine even DOA2 outclassses VF5

Are you a professional comedian I had to lol at that one. If you put as much time into vf5 as you do in you verbal repartee you would be decent challenge lmao.
I'd easily pick GOW2 but that's just my choice.I'd bet good money GOW2 is a waste of time. Why? Well ridiculous threads like this is why. If the game was is so good why try to compare it to something contentious? It wouldn't need to be coupled with a real game for the promotion purposes. The hype around it is forced. It's a fake hype for fakeboys.

The game has gotten excellent reviews from many sources. IGN gave it 9.7/10 and GT gave it 9.5/10. Many others have given it over 9/10 too.
GOW2 is quite clearly not a waste of time for someone that enjoys a strong action/adventure game.
lol
