God of War and RDR2 loses GOTY to Fortnite

I find this hilarious.. I remember cows bragging about these games "The two games fighting for GOTY are Playstation exclusives" you guys spent all year hyping GoW, then jumped on the RDR2 hype train, only to have GOTY snatched away by a game that came from PC. lol

PUBG was on pc first. Fortnite released on both pc and consoles at the same time. The BR mode released a bit later after Save the world.

I was never expecting God of War to win.

I was expecting RDR2 to win, simple because its so popular, but then again, Fortnite is more popular.

It's great though now that cows say these awards don't matter. or "other websites matter more" when its not in their favour.

I think GoW might win the more GOTYs than RDR2 but my pick is RDR2. But in all honesty Fortnite is the real GOTY for 2019, although I dislike it.

Probably because it came from PC. You could play the alpha on PC in 2014 and 2015, it only came to consoles later in 2017.

GOW was out of peoples minds when the game nominations are made.

Had it of been a fresh release when the nominations were made and people remembered the little details it might of done better.

But as much as Fortnite isn't my kind of game I can appreciate what it's done for online gaming.

No, it became a joke when Overwatch won. Now, it's basically just a popularity contest. I've played Fortnite and it was nowhere near as good as Red Dead Redemption 2 or God of War in terms of actual gameplay. It's like an even shittier version of PUBG. But I guess that's what's "in" now. People like garbage games as long as they can play with alot of players.

Fortnite didn't come from pc as the OP is inferring here though. It didn't come from pc as you're saying either.

Coming from pc would mean that it released first there, and was later ported to other platforms. Pubg came from pc for example. Fortnite released same day on both console and pc.

Also. Playing the alpha of save the world is a bit different than the BR that is referenced here. They're two seperate games.

Rather you like it or not, Fortnite released on both consoles and pc at the same time. Beta testing doesn't equate to "came from pc." If Fortnite had released on pc, and was then later ported to consoles, then your argument would have some merit, but it wasn't, so it doesn't. Lol

Also "Battle Royal" wasn't an add on. It is a different game. Fortnite BR is free to play, and doesn't even require downloading Save the World to run. StW however was not free to play. You had to buy that game seperately. In fact the Battle Royal had a beta of its own, and that was available on all platforms.

You desperately trying to claim Fortnite as some sort of victory for pc is downright sad bud. You're making the pc look worse by claiming this, and doing it no favors. Your whole premise just reeks of desperation.

Doesn't matter where it originated from. Fortnite Battle Royal was released on pc and console at the exact same time. It was beta tested on all platforms. Nobody on pc was playing it before consoles.

I'll do some digging around to see if I can find exactly what time it released on release day. Many times Xbox gets updates about 10-15 minutes before pc. If that was the case with Fortnite, you can just correct your OP to say that it came from Xbox. Lmao.

Epic really did a good job. i never played fortnite but seemingly the game is sure popular. Thou i have played on consoles in the past primarily a pc gamer now(no masterace bullcrap), i strongly believe no game should ever get a GOTY unless it caters & experienced by all audience on every platform. A exclusive getting a goty is like america releasing a movie within it country only & later nominating it for an oscar.

Its nowhere near as good as gow and rdr2. rdr2 will get majority of GOTY and GOW will snatch a few ones. But my personal GOTY is GOW. Its been the most fun i had in a long time
