God of War sales a smash hit????

Last week one of the most highly-anticipated PS4 exclusives, God of War, officially launched worldwide. The game is merely several days old and it has already managed to break the record for being the fastest selling game in the franchise's history in the UK. Impressively, these sales figures only take into account the physical retail units and exclude digital sales.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, God of War for the PS4 has sold over 35% more units in its first week than the previous fastest selling title in the franchise, God of War 3, which was originally released on the PS3 back in 2010. It has also beaten another major PS4 exclusive in 2018, Shadow of the Colossus.

With over 70 million PS4 sold to the world, this was sooo obvious God of War was gonna crush anything in it's path. Totally loving this refresh God of War and I'm liking Kratos for the first time probably since in half of God of War 3.

And that's just physical. It's probably doing insane numbers in digital as well.

My original post was more a slander of the op than gow, not really thread worthy that a highly advertised/high budget game sells a lot on release... I mean even sea of thieves sold a billion copies despite getting shit reviews!

Its also a bit ironic because the only thing he shot down was my dreams and hopes for God of War.

Some are even saying that the game is best if you missed all of the past gow games.

The developers came out and began to make excuses on why Kratos had to change when in reality they didn't.

I'm an Xbox fan.

I really can't think of any dream that hzd or gow can shoot down for me.

Well none that are Xbox related or at all.

Except playing Ps4 exclusives in 4k but that's not the games fault it's just cheap hardware.

Yet it was outsold 2:1 by a children's cardboard box minigame in Japan.

Yeah, I waited a few days to buy and got one of the last two copies I could find in the 4 nearest towns with another person there at the same time as me to pick up the last one. Great game too. It's been awhile since I enjoyed a game that much. Now I'm just sad it's gonna be awhile till I can get more.

This is one those games that the moment it was revealed you knew was gonna be a massive success. Just like Spiderman and RDR 2 will be later this year. Those are the event games of 2018.
