Ive just recently finished playing the demo myself. Here are my thoughts: -Combat is more enjoyable now. More refined. More fluid then ever before! Love the new tethering mechanics too. It opens up the combat and can lead to some wicked combos (Watch the video for some many examples of that:) ) Ive always loved the combat in God of War. I just beat Metal Gear a couple days ago, and I still find Ascension's combat to be better and more enjoyable! Just really loving the combat in Ascension. It seems to have a UMPH to it now! You can feel your chains make full contact with enemies! When you launch an enemy into the air and strike him from the ground, your blades will follow the enemy and strike upwards! I really liked the small touches like that, and its another example of how the combat has been refined etc Over all, felt like I was whopping some serious ass as Kratos! -The pacing is really good too -I love the cinematography -And of course the graphics look stunning as awlays There is no doubt in mind, this is going to be a great game!! I cant wait for God of War Ascension! Already have it preordered son! Does anyone else have it preordered too? p.s The only negative I can muster up about it, is that I can not play the full game right now lol.... But also, the sounds are a little choppy and there is a tiny hint of slow down at some instances. Most wont even notice it..... Over all, those are insignificant and pail to the many awesome high lights of the demo My excitiment levels are through the roof for Ascension! If you haveny played the demo yet, I encourage you to go give it a try! You wont be disappointed! Trust me, its awesome! Kraots! Here we come!

Liked it better than GOW 3, for a few reasons, gameplay feels better, Its not as Gothic (More light is around) color pops, Love the enemies, Not as Violent, they down played Kratos bad attitude a bit it seems.
So while some might not like these improvements I loved them.

It did to me Also, more God of War isnt a bad thing! This is God of War dialed up and more refined then its ever been, so im loving it Ascension is a bigger jump over part 3, then most other sequels have been over their predecessors in fact! This will be the biggest, baddest, and most epic God of War game yet So if you are a God of War fan, theres nothing better:) The next gen God of War will take the bigger step forward etc

GoW's combat has always been great. It's not cool to belittle it simply because it lacks depth. What it lacks in depth it more than makes up for in fluidity and spectacle. Most importantly it's fun.Â

i have played through all of the main entries to the series several times and after playing games like NG, Bayo, and DMc, I just can't enjoy the combat as much. The boss fights are still great as well as some of the set pieces but I can't justify spending more than $20 on this game.

Word on the street is that a Sony exec snuck into Microsoft Game Studios, overheard the news about Epic and the Gears of War series coming to 360 and decided to one up them by creating God of War first.
Too bad they failed since Gears is a masterpiece and God of War is like the scribblings in a 12 year olds notebook.
Once again, Sonys entire 1st party branch is influenced by Gears, yet still fails to live up to the hype.
