EA confirmed in a shareholder meeting that they are making a sequl to Godfather. The quote

The EA exec started by noting: "The appeal of those types of games is growing as the demographics start to open up for that older demographic", and continued: "We make products like Godfather 2, Army Of Two, Crysis - a lot of products that appeal to that older customer."

I don't know how I feel about this...i hope it's good.

The first godfather covered all the movies except godfather 3 (for obvious reasons)

They must be using the books, i hope. either that or they are going to make a whole new story.

Well after two remakes of the first, it's about time they made an actual sequel.

Actually, the game DIDN'T cover the second, I don't know why people keep saying that, The Godfather Part II started in 1958(Well, except Vito as a younger person, but I'm talking about after the Godfather, not the prequel part of the second), the game ended in 56'. The Godfather Part II was NOT covered in the game, 1958 Lake Tahoe is where the second starts, The Godfather game did not cover it in anyway.

why would they have the scene at lake tahoe in the game...

but in the game Michale was head of the family. as in GF II, either way god father part two doesn't seem like it would make an amazing game anyways.

oh well, i guess ill find out when more news comes out.

Even then, the second started in 1958'. The story ends in the Godfather the game, when you take out Don Barzini, which did happen in the first movie, then of course your character becomes don, but the part where you take out the other family bosses, happend in the movie. Nothing in the second was covered. But yes, it might not make the best game, but they probably know what they're doing.

Why does EA like to screw up the Godfather series?

This isn't going to appeal to older customers. It's going to make them cry.

Well, some people did like the Scarface game, so I guess anything goes.

It's not like it's going to ruin the movie, I love the movies, but it's not like you can't enjoy both, even if it's not, 'True' to it, it's not a canon part of the film, the stuff they change is the stuff they change, it affects the film in NO way.

True.

I actually never played the Godfather games, coz I was scared of what they'd do to it. Remembering that Francis Ford Coppola had like abook full of notes on how he was going to translate the book to a movie, I didn't think EA would put the same effort from movie to game.

I have it, it's fun, that's about it. It's not like a Super Mario Bros, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, or whatever big series of games, it's just pretty fun, not on the leauge of the movie, not close, but I play it seperating itself from the movie, I don't consider them connections, just a basis per se.
