Going by new footage,will RAGE be console gfx king when its all said and done?

I think it could be...Considering it runs at(confirmed) 720p and 60fps on this consoles while still having awesome visuals,especially animations and artstyle I'm thinking not alot of 30fps can give it run for its money.So this being such a good looking game,running twice faster and being twice more responsive than other contetenders its clearly in league of its own.What does SW think?

Not impressed by the graphics so far. They are good, but not the absolute best I have seen. There is too much blood splatter for my taste.

In some ways yes but in other ways no actually.

Great textures and detail, really nice character animation and solid framerate, but static sky boxes, not a lot of world destruction and there's not really any impressive shadows other than those on the characters. Also, little details like seeing the players hand when they interact with things like switches and levers etc are missing.

Just looking at the game as an overall image it looks visually very impressive but some of the little flourishes I've come to expect just aren't there for me personally.

It's still beautiful but I think with a little more polish in a couple of other areas it could have been truly mind blowing.

It truly will be a toss up between a lot of games for the title this fall. Rage definitely has a chance and just looks stunning.

Considering it runs at 60fps and any other console game worth anything struggles with 30, yes id say so.

Maybe Rage is the consoleframerate king but gfx king ? No.

Isnt that footage from a PC version? Id say so judging by the sharpness of textures.

I don't understand why this game gets such a positive response from a lot of people, especially if its gameplay is hardly anything revolutionary? If you're going mainly by the AI and graphics alone, then that's not enough, at least for me, to get excited. One can easily compare it to Fallout 3/Vegas or Borderlands. Is it receiving so much attention because its an id Software game?

And to answer the question, no, judging by that video. I don't know if it's because it's on youtube, but Witcher 2 looks better.

WipeOut HD Fury runs at 1080p x 60 fps most of the time, and even being very good looking I think that isn't the console game with better graphics all around.

Sure, Rage looks way better than most of the other games at 60 fps in consoles (rage is id Tech 5, COD is id Tech 3 enhanced), but there's games with better detail and better scale. We must wait and see.

Whoa the gameplay looks insanely good! The graphics are fantastic but I'm more impressed with how good the gameplay looks and what they have achieved with the game world, it looks really immersive. I have Fallout 3 and Borderlands but stopped playing them rather quickly due to the lack of polish, bugs, average visuals and average gameplay. This however looks fantastic, will definitely pick this one up.

Well, it won the best graphics last E3 so it wont be far from it. Still i think Crysis 2 looks better and believe that by the end of this year Uncharted 3 and Gears 3 will be the best looking console games.

So, what exactly is so original about Rage? I see nothing. Honestly. I don't want to troll around, but id Software hasn't said much about what makes this game stand out from its competitors. And if that can't be done, then, you're not going to convince a lot of folks to like your product, especially since it's mostly referring to the graphics or AI.

Awesome graphics /= great game.

The game looks pretty good.

The biggest issue for me is that 99% of the enemies look the same. In all the gameplay videos it looks and sounds like you are fighting clones.

Graphics alone? No. Graphics and performance, without a doubt the best I have seen on consoles, 60fps, large/open world.SaltyMeatballs
