to high heaven if it had been on 360/PS3. Seriously, this games single player was awesome and much better than CoD games. If it was in HD I have no doubt that the game would have been reviewed much better.

Remakes tend not to be praised very much as masterpieces. Even games like OOT will soon be forgotten, new generation of gamers come in, if you ask a 14 year old gamer what OOT is, they probably won't know. That's why this mentality of "ZOMG masterpiece from 1985>>>>>>>>>>>Uncharted two!!!!!" isn't really that great. You're basing it off of memory and nostalgia.
It got AA scores pretty much everywhere, its a great game, who cares if some forum nazi's would have praised it more? Game is incredibly fun, enjoy it :)
Personally,I disagree,I always thought that game was only ok and the N64 controller was horrible for FPS´s so that made it even worse.
In my opinion, the game got noteriety because it was the first console FPS made well(and it was exclusive),but if was a PC game only when it came out it would never have been that relevant, considering the competition it would be up against.
Oh,forget it,I thought you meant the N64 game.

Couldnt agree more. I look back at Zillion and the hours of rage and enjoyment I spent with it on the Sega Master System, and it probably isnt worth 15 minutes now. But that goes with anything. Friend of mine is a graduate film student at Columbia and cant get through the first 20 minutes of the Seven Samurai. It's a generational thing.[QUOTE="XVision84"][QUOTE="starwarsgeek112"]

this.it's kinda sad that zelda will soon fade away tho.....
I thought is was great, brilliant single player, a fun online multiplayer, with a few nagging issues. Plus it has splitscreen which most FPS's don't even have nowadays which is very sad. I thought it would stand pretty well within the 360's and PS3's shooters.
But seriously it wouldn't have. There is absolutely no reason to play/buy GoldenEye when you have the CoD franchise, Halo (Reach I guess), or Killzone to choose from. There might have been some initial hype, but that's it. The competition is far too fierce; GoldenEye would have been ripped apart if it were released on the same platform as today's FPS giants.to high heaven if it had been on 360/PS3. I know you are talking about the Wii version but I would like to say that the original holds up well today gameplay wise and control wise. Anyone who disagrees is too busy worrying about the graphics or they just suck at and then blame it on the controls despite it being the same controls as if was on PC; the only difference is that instead of mouse you use a control stick and use the C pad to move (same as ASDW on a keyboard). So anyone who says the controls suck must also think that first person shooters suck on PC. And the multiplayer is still good.
inb4nostlagia, despite the first time I ever played it was a year ago.

Yeah, I doubt it.foxhound_fox
That was a terrible port. I cant even believe how badly they botched the controls.

Well the majority still consider OoT to be the best Zelda in existence, so I don't see that happening any time soon. The game would have been praised if it wasn't ****ing awful too.Guppy507
Thats cool, seeing as you're wrong, it doesn't matter much though :P
Compared to the singleplayer of Crysis 2??? Or the multiplayer of Bad Company 2????
Goldeneye just wouldn't stack up to the good modern day shooters even if it had comparable graphics.
The game got what it deserved, if not a bit more. It had a lot of potential and I enjoyed most of my time with it, but the campaign began to fall apart at the end, their were no awesome cheats and such as in the original goldeneye, and multiplayer had lame auto lock on, loadouts instead of weaponsets, too much Cod and not enough bond/perfect dark/timesplitters feel, and so on. A solid game but fell short of my hopes.

An awesome game is an awesome game ;). Some don't age well, and others do. OoT is a game everyone should at least try. Same goes for Super Metroid and more, as is the case for many current gen games. Of course some (Goldeneye 64 and such) have not aged all that well.

Neither Goldeneye game got bad reviews lol.
Dude, there are some people who don't care about how critically good a game is. They'll still hate it.I praise Goldeneye 007 everywhere I go. Brilliant Wii shooter! I enjoyed it more than most FPSs on HD consoles because of the controls, levedesign and overall feel of the game! But if it wasnt on Wii, it wouldnt be that good. Its brilliant because its on Wii with Wii controls etc. I is remarkable in Wii context.

How was it terrible? The only bad thing about the controls was when you were holding down RT to do a manual aim it was way to sensitive. Other than that it was a great port at a very reasonable price.

Dude, there are some people who don't care about how critically good a game is. They'll still hate it. Goldeneye Wii would be overrated even if it scored a 6. That game is so full of problems. They even ****ed up basic things like hit detection. Please Log In to post.
