I expect PS4 to be $400. And yes, I think Sony made all the better decisions with the hardware (Except for the controller. 360 controller was already awesome and that new one looks stunning). So to me PS4 looks like the better console. But if MS sells Xbox One for $300 that could be a game changer. Don't know for sure what either of these machines will cost yet but price will be important and that's one area where MS could still give Sony trouble.

Sony spent their reveal conference talking about how they wanted the Playstation 4 to be easy to develop for, showed off numerous games, including a new IP, gameplay demos of a few of the games, and showed off the multimedia features but didn't spend too much time on it. Microsoft did exactly opposite, so I have to agree with your statement as of right now.

That actually was a good read. And he is pretty much right.

You can always tell who is a chomping at the bit, frothing at the mouth, and completely beyond hope XBox fangirl.  The surest sign is that when MS does something kinda messed up, their first reaction starts with "But Sony does..".  I wonder if they realize no one cares about their mortal feud with Sony but themselves?  As if these lame excuses actually are going to sell an XBox One to a single soul.

Frankly, if you are an XBox One fan, you should have Lemming status taken away from you because you don't even deserve that.  XBox fans used to be about games.  We could at least give them that much credit.  One fans would literally put on a cheerleader outfit and let Balmer defecate on them on Youtube and it wouldn't phaze them.  They just don't live in a reality that is comprehendable.

From what I got from the "article" (which was just a reader op-ed) is that he anticipates the consoles to be more the same than they are different and that since he had been an Xbox fan over the past two generations, he will then purchase the console he is more comfortable and familiar with.

I anticipate this will be the buying strategy for most when it comes to which console they purchase within the first few years of their respective lifecylcles. I do also believe, though, that the PS4 has the developer backing and hardware advantage that will make the console be able to have a greater margin of graphical improvement over the years. As the margin grows over the next generation, I anticipate the PS4 to have a longer shelf life when it comes to exclusive games. I acutally see the there being a Xbox/PS2 type graphical gap that will make even multiplatform games appear to look "that" much better on the PS4 based on the published hardware specs.

Well all rumors were basically spot on,and there is another still waiting to be confirm or deny...

$500 dollar price tag..

I don't think MS will sell the xbox one for $300,that is basically what a 360 permium cost now,i don' see a less than $399 price tag on it,it may not have GDDR5 or the same GPU as the PS4,but it has Kinect included which does rise the price of the console.
