GOOD NEWS!! Gran Turismo FINALLY has car damage.

"Many fans of the series may also be pleased to learn that damage modelling has finally been implemented with Prologue. On the whole, the damage effects are quite realistic and we can safely say that the days of the Gran Turismo series being called a 'bumper car simulator' are over."

I just think it sucks we are still not getting the real game until probably holiday 2008.

Is it going to be real damage, whereby you crash into a wall and your car gets totalled? Or will it be forza type damage, whereby you have a head on collision and you simply go a bit slower and lose a little steering stability?

If its the latter, they should just forget it.

On short some damage modeling is preferable to none, but I dont think dammage modeling will be truly physics based till next gen. (Imagine if they used the havok engine just for the dammag modeling)

I wonder if you'll be able to turn it on or off? I was content with the bumper cars, but then again I never played Forza that much so I don't know if I like the damage or not.sneekite

There will likely be an arcade mode or something with no damage and probably an option for online races, I myself prefer my racers arcady (Ill take PGR over GT or Forza any day).

I still haven't come across proper realistic car damage model. Forza 2 was disappointing in this regard. And I doubt this will be any different.

Just to clarify, if you plough into the car in front of you at 40mph your front end is gonne be smashed and it's race over. Yes, even at low speeds.

it wll be just cosmetic damage. it's impossible to make proper damage models for the amount of cars that are in GT5.
