Google Predicts Xbox 720 Will Crush PS4

They say knowledge is power, and when it comes to knowledge, Google has no rival in the private sector except for maybe Facebook. Google knows more about all of us than we can possibly imagine. Imagine warehouses full of servers, replete with databases storing every keystroke you make, phone call you make, and place you might go. Only the NSA (National Security Agency) has the capability to gather more information. But the NSA doesnt care about you or I. At least not what we do. They have a different mandate. Googles mandate, however, is different and it would probably shock you to hear that its not just money.

Googlesalgorithmsare so complex, far reaching, and ever evolving that they have the capability to collapse our entire collectiveconsciousness into one simple set of ideas.

It knows what we want, and what we will want. Ever notice when you start keying in for a Google search, the Google Predict feature kicks in.

But Google is not as secretive as Facebook or say, the NSA. In fact, Google is so consumer friendly that it provides you with all the tools it can conjure up to help you.

Google organized the internet. let me say that again GOOGLEORGANIZED THE INTERNET. But enough about Google and their information gathering prowess. Lets discuss how theyre predicting the winner of the Next Gen Console War.

Statistically, in the U.S. the aptly named new Xbox, the Xbox 720, is searched for considerably more than the PS4.

In the last 11 months, searches for information on the new Xbox has overwhelmed searches for PS4 or Playstation 4. Looking closely at how both future consoles stand in the eyes of the world, now remember, (The PS4 is essentially Japanese, Asian, while the Xbox is American), the anticipated American muscle machine crunches the import

If we narrow our search to the U.S. population, the gap widens even more.

I know what youre thinking. We did some additional research into Googles track record and found that consistently, Google Trends accurately predicted the winner of competing devices. Our most notable find was Googles prediction that Blu-Ray Movies would win and beat HD-Movies. That graph depicted below shows how the Xbox 720 (In Red) is separating itself more and more as time goes on. We suggest you take a look at Google Trends and compare Xbox 720 and PS4, and select the Forecastfeature. The results, if you dont believe us by now, will shock you.

Seriously though, I wouldnt be surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.

But all it takes is one or two key unexpected factors to completely throw all predictions out the window. Nobody immagined that Nintendo would win out this gen while Sony is scrambling for crumbs of market share, but it happened and it happened fast.

If I had to make a prediction right now, I'd side with Google, but its way too early to be calling stuff like this.

Sony's going to have trouble supporting the PS4 in it's inevitable bankruptcy so....

anyways, it is interesting how google is usually right in the predictions. the xbox brand has certainly gained much recognition, being able to stay ahead of sony all gen, which is impressive considering that the ps2 quadrupled the xbox's sales last gen. it will be interesting how next gen will turn out.

Hard to say, it depends on the actual products that come out and initial reviews and specs.

I'm %100 sure the 720 will do well.

I'm a little less sure that the PS4 will do well. I don't know if they have the capital, resources and know-how to actually make a smooth product, after what a schit product the PS3 was.

If Sony pulls another PS3 they're going the way of Sega.

The console war is not actually between the 360 and PS3.

Console was is between the Wii U and PS4.

The 360/720 are extensions of Windows/PC in other form factors, like Surface and Windows 8.

Yeah that's why I said "going into" next gen.

MS does have an advantage.

There's a new phenomenon for the first time in gaming: online community. XBLA users are more likely to upgrade to the next Xbox. They're used to the ecosystem & have all/most of their friends there.

Second thing is the currency exchange rate. Wii U costs $250 in Japan, but $300 overseas (for the basic set). Hence $50 markup to offset the loss from exchanging currency back to Yen after a sale. Sony faces a similar issue, one that MS does not share.

Third. Sony needs to be profitable day 1. Microsoft can easily afford massive losses.

Combine 2 and 3 and you can get a machine from MS that does more & better, for a smaller price. Although this depends on whether MS decides to invest like that, but I see it as a realistic outcome.

Furthermore Sony has to deal with Nintendo in Japan, whom is currently on the verge of practically taking over the entire region. A gaming system can't simultaneously satisfy both markets (west / Japan). Sony will have to sacrifice/compromise aspects of PS4 if they want to be successful in both west and Japan. Basically PS4 is a rope and west / Japan are pulling from each side of it. Meanwhile MS can 100% focus on the western markets.

PlayStation will undoubtedly fall off. May be we'll see XBOX #3 vs Steambox or something.

No you are obsessed with Sony and no it doesn't offend me if someone bashes them. But you have to understand that when people have a favorite system they might get a little annoyed when people hate on something they grew up with and invested good time into.

I often post here from my phone when there isn't much to do. I like to interact with other gamers, I see gaming as one of the greatest art forms that just hasn't taken off fully yet, I would prefer Primary Discussion but no one on this site posts there much. This is most active place.
