Got an Xbox 360 today

and I already have problems with it such as Discs not being read and corrupted files.

I've never had a problem with the Wii or PS3 when setting up so Why does the 360 have to be picky?

I really want my 360 to work. Does this happen often with people that have 360s?

I actually had a problem with my BC2 disk being read today. Try cleaning it and installing the game if you have a hard drive. As for corrupted files, which games?

happened to my friend a couple of months ago too....but he traded it no problem and since then hasn't a problem whatsoever with his new one

just go trade it in TC and i HOPE you didn't get it on ebay or something, lol

of course not I'm actually being serious. It was my Birthday and I got a 360! I tried playing it but I got errors for trying to play ODST on my Offline Account which apparently got corrupted and I had to delete it.

if it was Best Buy. hope it wasn't a refurb then. they have an extensive program with that, I believe.

yea, just go back and say the disc lens or disc tray isn't working properly and you would like to exchange it.....they'll look in the box and make sure everything is in there and all that good jazz....you shouldn't have any problems

happens to me, and only that game, so I think EA shipped a mildly defective disc.

It's fine I had already established myself as a Sheep here lately so it would come suspicous that I would just happen to get a 360.

Sounds like an uncommon problem. If you just bought it today you can always exchange or return it. Though this sort of stuff should really go into your blog rather than here in SW.

absolutely....you are warranted on the model that you buy and it is illegal for them to give you another model/bundle otherwise

yeah it should. it's still being offered right now, isn't it?

Sounds like an uncommon problem. If you just bought it today you can always exchange or return it. Though this sort of stuff should really go into your blog rather than here in SW.

oh, well mine and some people on the Xbox forum have a single flicker in every load screen with that game. and sometimes it kicks me all the way to dashboard. So I have to restart. Figured that might be what you had going on.

pretty sure that game still has a minor defection, or at least my copy does:evil:

Main reasons people post this on SW, one simple one is because they can get a fast response. Another is to smear the 360's image while getting said response.. Win/Win situation imo.

I had a disc drive go bad, but other than that no problems at all. As for corrupted files, never an issue except for the Nascar game that corrupted your saves halfway through the game, but that didn't have anything to do with the console.

right now it looks like the Console itself is fine but when I try to play a game (Halo 3 ODST) it says the disc is dirty and I see nothing on the Disc.

yea it's the disc drive then....just a faulty one, happens sometimes

Those are the same errors, you got a faulty disc drive. I had MS fix mine under warranty & I got the console back the same week I sent it. Surely this isn't a brand new console you have?
