Goty Nominations are making me cry

1. MP3 IS NOT A CHOICE FOR WII GOTY!!!!! WTF IS UP WITH THAT!!!!!!!!11!!!1???/ Obviously mario will win Wii Goty, but seriously, the only real competition mario has is MP3. Of course GS shouldn't make the second best Wii game a choice for Wii GOTY, that would just be dumb.

2. Zakk and Wiki barely ever mentioned, never mentioned for any best puzzle game catergories. The one (none wii overall goty) it is mentioned for, it is winning by a huge margin. Why not nominate it for best puzzle game? What about most innovative game? Huh GS?

3. CoD4 is winning overall GOTY. Ummm, yeah, I played it. I didn't think it was that special. Also there are better games out there that deserve more votes (not just mario).

4. SupCom should be mentioned for PC GOTY.

5. There's a trend going around in some of these polls that I dont like. Look at this, and this. The orange box is winning most innovative award by a big margin, and Sonic the Hedgehog is winning worst game everyone played by a lot. However, in each of those threads, those games were the only games from 360. There were 3 Wii games, a PSP or PS3 game (both of which were not being voted for because they just didn't entirely fit with the catergory), and then the 360 game. Now when the sheep go the most innovative thread, they are split between their three games, while the PC and 360 games have only 1 game they care to vote for. Then on the worst game everyone played, lemms are split between 3 nintendo games to pick while sheep go at full force towards the 360 game. Now, I dont mean to say that orange box and Sonic shouldn't be winning, but in general (and this trend is sort of continued over many more catergories) these polls need to be more fair.

Anyway, these GS Goty polls really make me mad. Makes me remember why I hate GS. (

CoD4 being nominated shows me that these professional review sites care nothing more now but online play and lacking short SP modes. Forget the days of offering both in one package, today it seems one or the other, and the other is MP only. Seriously... for anyone who doesn't have online play, or someone who may not game online religiously like others, I don't see why CoD 4 wins. I'd like some lengthy SP modes with the 60 bones I spent on the game.... :|

I also disagree with CoD4 being goty nominated/contender since well if your into SP games CoD4 fails to the extreme I'm sorry but $60 for a 5 hour game (specially one with scripted battles) is not worth it.The MP is prolly the most unbalanced MP I've ever seen,sure I agree it was fun for the first 3 hours but then it got annoying.

3. Gamepot picks the winners , not the fans. They just vote for the readers choice awards. If they pick Call of Duty 4 (as well as the fans) then so be it.Games don't have to hit bullet points and a certain game length to be appreciated for their greatness.

5. GS is engineering the polls. I could easily make a polls that let Metriod Prime 3 win in whatever catergory I want. If GS doesn't understand this concept at all, then that just shows they are more incompetent.

Why does everyone think CoD4 is so amazing? It's just CoD2/CoD3 with a new graphics engine. There's nothing new in it, and it most certainly will make no difference to future games like Crysis will. The graphics aren't paticularly great, the singleplayer is short and repetitive, the multiplayer is good (I will give it that) and there's not much else to it. WHY?!Taalon

Yeah it has a 10 minute Singleplayer and is completly repitetive.

NOT. FFS you can see from all the votes it gets, all the high scores it gets and maybe you are party of the MINORITY that don't like it. SP lasted me easily 20 hours+ (Hardened and Veteran, Mile Highclub, Arcade mode and additional challenges) and the MP is fantastic (Near BF2 for quality and progression).

Please you either don't have it, or have some sort of personal grudge against it. Leave it alone. It was an awesome game and deserving of its future Game of the Year Status.

5: They pick the fans, actually. COD4 obviously has more fans on this particular site than other sites. o_o
And that's also because COD4 is multiplatform which means it has more fans.

the goty awards are not made for systemwars. In fact, SYSTeEMWARS DOES NOT MAKE UP THE GAMESPOT POPULATION.
