GoW :

This game is all about attack . while the game have a block/Dodge you won't even think about using it until you play on harder difficulty , and most attack can simply be dodged by running around . With normal combos you will hit almost everything on the screen which make it even more easier to ignore anykind of defense . the minigame kills make-up for the constant beat'em up feel with some of the most awsome cinematic looking kill you will ever see :P

Difficulty : easy - Casual Friendly / Gamer Friendly / Hardcore Friendly

DMC :

I like to see this game as a turn-based action adventure game :P . You do your combo , you ennemy attack ( and you try to dodge it ) , you do your combo , etc :P . the need to dodge get really important against later on monsters and bosses but the camera can make it hard on the timing . Nero in DMC4 can use is Buster to make some awsome kick ass move , a la GoW ( without the minigame ) which is quite welcome ^^ .

Difficulty : medium - Experienced casual / Gamer friendly / Hardcore friendly

NG :

This game is all about defence , don't even try to attack first unless it's really obvious that you can or you gonna get your ass kick . while GoW and DMC are about beating the crap out of the ennemies , this game is about creating opening by dodging/blocking and then counter-attack with a deadly combo . it is know to be one of the hardest game ever .

Difficulty : hard - Casual Killer / Experienced Gamer /Hardcore friendly .

I can see the flames coming , ill go get some water .

I think GoW and DMC are about the same, but NG is just crazy. I think you got them about right.

I found DMC on Normal a lot harder than GoW on Normal. I played NG on normal too, but that one's the hardest by far. I played the second boss for like 1 hour untill I could beat it. And its definitely not the hardest boss.

Also, Dante has the option to Royal Guard instead of dodging.

And NG is not all about defense ! It's just against some enemies that you have to be more careful. I spam that aerial move that I forgot the name (forward + Y I think) that goes right through enemies and can decapitate as well. If the enemy blocks this move, it's no big deal. Just don't use this against the tough types.

I think the God of War description was right on.

I think the DMC and NG are both hard. DMC 4 difficulty was pretty easy compared to DMC 3. NG will just kick you in the @$$, well have to see with the 2nd one.

Try using that move in NGB, doesn't work nearly as well.

You completely utterly and totally failed on your assessment of DMC. DMC is NOT medium, its just as difficult as NG. Turn based??? WTH? I can keep on attacking as long as I want to, why? beause I'm that good at the game. Maybe you're not.

No offense but you failed in DMC aspec.

DMC - Hard/Very hard - Combo/style based gameplay that varies in speed depending on how good you are. On expert play it can get as fast as NG sometimes.

NG - Hard/Very hard - About dodging and executing attacks very quickly.

What about Sigma ?

Also, how is wall jumping straight up + Y ? That move is also abusable in NG.

Keeping attacking in DMC will only open you for hits which will drop your stylish . Take the boss fight against ( can't remember is name ) Karie brother . You dodge is attacks then he's totally open for a combo , you attack he block and your open for is combo . against lowly mobs sure , go ahead and smash the Y button , but doing that agaisnt knight will only make your life bar drop .

I haven't played Sigma, apparently the combat system is tweaked to allow more combos.

And yeah the wall move works well if you don't mind taking forever to kill your enemies, it's probably the most unbalanced move in the game. Of course it's useless if you want to kill enemies with maximum karma.

As long as you vary your attacks the meter will not drop. Hitting multiple targets gives you a lot of stylish points as well.

Uhh some bosses in NG are like that aswell. Its old school style of gameplay. Yes, I can keep attacking, since there is no block in any of the styles except Royal Guard, to evade attacks I just roll or jump put of the way while still attacking. Similar to NG in that aspect.

Getting hit is not a priority on my list. Thats why they have rolling/jumping. NG allows you to actually block so its more of a turn based ( if thats even possible in these games ) than DMC.

We get way too many threads that compare these 3 games.

NInja Gaiden is a much more deeper combat and the best gameplay among the 3 action games.

DMC has a good amount of depth, but its saving grace to its combat is really its "sty-le". It just looks cool. On Top of that Dante owns. THe weapons are awesome and really fun to use. ALso the game is pure OFFENSE.

God of War is more of a cinematic adventure. Its combat is lacking against both games, but it doesnt suck. ITs actually fun enough to let the cinematics and story make up for it. Personally Kratos sucks as a character. But the rest of the story is excellent. Not a fan of the combat, but its still good .

IMO its Ninja Gaiden>Devil May Cry>God of War.

Nah, it's easier to hit him with a three hit combo IMMEDIATLY after he rolls, works most of the time. Also you can hit him after he's done the dash attack, and don't forget to buttonmash when you lock weapons with him :P

The main difference in difficulty b/w DMC and NG is NG's so called "easy" mode feals like normal mode of DMC. NG starts off torturing you lol. At their peaks they are about equally difficult though.

DMC4 and NG2 both have modes even easier than easy mode to help encourage more casuals/sales.

I agree, as someone who's played them all; GOW is the easiest followed by DMC then NG...
What I find is the funniest thing about the games are the huge contrast in their characters lol

Ryu is like a mime

Dante is the kind of character who makes you scream, "Shut the **** up" at the tv screen five minutes into the game

and Kratos is always twisting his face in anger and going on a rampage like he's been suffering from violent diarrhea.

Those three always crack me up.

Trying to beat NG (on hard) is trying to get to work on time when there's 30 seconds left until you're an hour late, you're riding a little girl's tricycle with a nitrous oxide system, only it's in a reverse setup, and to top that off, an ambulance (on fire) is coming straight at you in a school zone.

... I think that kind of sums it up.
