I hope mass effect has that vast seemless feel GTA has always had.

i feel sorry for sheep. MAybe rockstar will make some kinda weaker port, But without all the pretty details.

you could disagree and say another game, maybe MGs4 or MAss effect, but saying GTA IV is too generic makes no sense. Firstly the game isn't out yet, and secondly if you'd skimmed through the interview you'd know they're trying to evolve the series which is something they've they've always done with each sequel. to call it generic is like saying there's tons of games out there which are comparable to the gta experience. Saints row? b*@ch please

Reminds me of all the magazine hype that surrounded GTA:VC.

Hopefully they manage to actually pull off what they are talking about.

There is much talk regarding the innovative ways of the Wii remote. However, this a myth and needs to be debunked right here on System Wars. In fact, the SIXAXIS edges out the Wii remote in terms of innovation, in the following three ways.

(1) It's more sensitive. The SIXAXIS is more sensitive to subtle motions initiated by the player's movements. We can see this in games like MotorStorm, Tony Hawk, flOw, Tiger Woods and Resistance.

(2) No external sensor bar required. When you first opened your Wii and saw the sensor bar, you probably thought "wow....this thing is so ugly and obstrusive. Luckily, the SIXAXIS achieves motion control without the need for an external sensor bar. It just works!

I believe that these are all valid reasons in support that the SIXAXIS bests Nintendo's cheap, uninspired Wii remote. We can already see revolutionary gameplay mechanics on the PS3 using SIXAXIS. i think it's weird that whenever people get excited about a game they start yelling GOTY....

i kinda created this thread not out of inane excitement, but to post what i consider to be  progressive

i gets quite tedious seeing all these honours going to games like Zelda, mario and Devil may cry, when none of those games are saying anything that's remotely stimulating. one of the best things about gta which doesnt get talked about on these threads is how it tries to say things about culture. the witty attacks on consumerism in the radio stations for example.

metal gear is another game which bothers to communicate intelligent messages to gamers.

So, who's read everything? I did, and I say it's now on top of my most wanted list. These guys are seriously trying to do something completely new here. Most developers are still working on known ground with problems encountered before, Rockstar is now finding solutions to new problems here. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Id say this game is influenced by Saints Row and maybe if it were not for Saints Row then maybe GTA would have stayed pretty similar to San Andreas.
Also I have sympaty for people who don't realise this game is a Sattire (Over the top Comedy) on USA Consumer - Capitalism and the problems that come with it, also for the people that dont realise its British people that make GTA.

Because GTA hasn't won or been nominated for GOTY before? GTAIV is easily among the top 3 favourites.

i know man...like the way they're describing all the subtle animations, how niko scowls at a guy that's just barged past him, the leisure activities, a helluva  a lot more character development, niko making his own calls to people to arrange jobs

it makes perfect sense why Liberty city is smaller than San andreas. All these little details are gonna blow people away. when i play san andreas sometimes just driving around i get sucked in. This just seems beyond anything.

with FFXII the look of the towns was unbelievably beautiful but the npc's were too rigid. I hope they make everything seamless and realistic like gta

I read it all and I am very excited for this game.  I just can't wait to see how the world Rockstar is creating will turn out.  

Also, the route that Rockstar is taking is more pleasing in my eyes.  Instead of making it bigger, they're making it more detailed.  Bashers of the Liberty City setting should ask themselves:  Do I want something larger than San Andreas that is very sparse, or do I want something the size of an actual city with almost all the details of that city? 

The game is looking great, Im just waiting for -the-very-best- to come and have an orgasm over these scans lol.-Sir-Poof-
