Yep. This game will be awesome.

Also,
I know it's not real ray tracing.. It's just a floating texture with transparency. Game looks great, though. :P

Wasn't that the same attitude people took with HDTVs?
If 3D TVs can stop making people nauseous it might make GT5 futureproof for a good while, but that's a long shot.
Maybe they think games going 3D will make people want to buy their 3D TVs. :PWill they include a 3d capable Tv bundled with it?? If not, I don't see how this could be relevant.

3D will probably be like HDTVs were at first. They will be ridiculously expensive at first but as technology advances and they become cheaper to manufacture them will drop and you'll be able to get them cheaper. I still can't believe there are people that play games a lot and play in SD. HDTVs are dirt cheap

But standard edition to high definition is different than HD to 3D, at least in my mind.
I know when I buy my next TV later this year, it most likely will not be a 3D TV. It's just going to be a larger HD TV.

As for GT5, it is cool that it is 3D capable, but it is just that. Cool, not much else.
crazy amount of detail they put in this game. it shows it the best sim racing game

Can't make that bold claim when it hsn't actually released. And you're seriously going to laugh at FM3 when it holds the crown as this generation's best sim racer? Y'know, 9.5 and all ;)

Sorry, but if GT5 won't be able to score at least equal to FM3, you won't be able to offer up pitiful excuses for how it "blows forza away". You'll just be in denial.

The difference being, with FM3 actually being out, there's something substantial to go on. I mean in an argument of concrete against theoretical, concrete usually wins (emphasis on the word 'usually')

I know what you mean, but in the end, it's the same stuff... cows claim GT5 is better without basis as much as lems claim FM3 is better. To REALLY state which one is better we need to play both first, something not posible yet.
So any FM# vs GT5 is pretty irrelevant at this point IMO. Doesn't matter how good FM3 is, GT5 COULD be better and this article shows how... of course it could also be NOT better.

I mean yeah I do accept that standards rise over time, even so, can you really tell me they change as quickly within the same generation, as they do across different gens? It's much much easier to compare standards across generations than it is from within the same one, since with the latter, there isn't really a uniform measure for the progress of standards. In otherwords what basis do you go by from games just 8-14 months apart, as opposed to being 4-8 years apart?
Do you follow?

I realize that I exaggerated a bit, but you know what I mean. GT5 scoring a 9 wouldn't be a failure for the series. In fact, it would be a step up from the last full GT game.i would bet money that online play is laggy like hell :PI believe that GT5 will end up with a 9.5 as well.
It's gameplay feature lineup is just as good as Forza 3's.
And knowing Polyphony, the game and all of it's features are polished to near-perfection (one of the reasons development is taking so long).

BATMAN BE PRAISED!!!! :D :D
*ahem ahem* so yeah, anyway.... GT5... if it does score an even 9, then yes, it IS a step up from previoous releases, and bringing the series back on course. But you can't say standards have changed that quickly, in the time frame we're talking about, to try and claim some kind of victory over FM3. Again, this is not like comparing a 7th gen game to a 6th gen game.

Sadly some consumers actually do that.
You do realize that all of their "high-end" TV's are either 3D ready (meaning the TV doesn't have 3D, but it's uhm.. ready for it) or real 3D TV's right?I'm guessing the inside of a car will have a 3D feeling but not much. I dont see the reason for it either..Ugh, I can't wait until the whole 3D fad ends. How do you even implement it in a racing game? The genre isn't exactly "OMG it's coming right through the screen!" friendly (unless PD has really upgraded the damage modelling).
