I thought it was set to be released this summer not february
Bahahahahahahha Oh my god what a bunch of **** I am now retroactively giving Turn 10 huge props for turning Polyphony Digital into a bunch of squeamish little girls. Can we maybe get the game sometime, Poly? Any time this century? Is this date another bait and switch or what? I swear, if this game isn't out by November, I'm coming down there....
Now taking bets on whether Forza 4 will come out before or after GT5!Can't exactly beat Forza if you never release the game.

I called this a couple days ago.EXLINK
I knew Gran Turismo 5 would be delayed countless times after seeing what happened with Gran Turismo 4. Late 2003, then spring 2004, summer 2004, fall 2004, winter 2004, and finally it came out in early 2005 still with not online.
by the time they set to release this game Forza 4 will be released and theyll delay it again to "help sales" :/

No it wasn't.
Gamespot and Gamestop both said February 10 or 11 I believe. My buddy preordered it because the local Gamestop also had a February release date.
You do realize GameStop just throw tentative dates in for their games in the database. It all depends on what the Dev's/publisher say. And none of them have ever mentioned february so thats typical GameStop there.[QUOTE="EXLINK"]I called this a couple days ago.3sFan

Gran Turismo 4 was released in February of 2005 and Forza 1 was released in May 2005.... This effectively means that Turn 10 has released 3 full Forza 3 games, all critically acclaimed AAA titles, within the same development timeframe it has taken Polyphony Digital to create the next iteration in the franchise. T10 now has another FULL YEAR to develop their next title before PD....hopefully....kicks their game out the door in some hamfisted half-finished fashion.[QUOTE="3sFan"][QUOTE="BZSIN"]

Because Polophony Digital never knows when to stop perfecting his games.
Obviously they need to improve something in the game. My thoughts are they played Forza 3 and said, we have competition this generation and better deliver. It's not like last gen when the PS2 had a huge market share.
Oh how quickly people here use gamestop estimated release date for a game that was never given a specific one just to gloat at cows. See what you have done cows? Everyone wants to jump at the chance to mock you.

Heh, seriously. I've seen like 5 threads aimed at them today.

Baloney, Gamestop uses interim dates all the time, that's why they change every 2 weeks. You should see how often Blizzard games release dates move around in the Gamestop pre-order calendar. Matter of fact, Blizzard doesn't even give release dates, everything Gamestop gives is completely made up. I am always a little excited when a game gets delayed because it often means that a game is getting a little love and spitshine. This, on the other hand, it just getting stupid and silly. How about another demo while we wait? Prologue 2?NAPK1NS
How does $40 for a demo sound?

Didn't they say march or may?PD should just give up on this project. Even Alan Wake have a set release date and have not been delayed since. If/When Alan Wake releases, GT5 wil be the ONLY title to have a debut in the beginning of this gen's cycle and to not have been released yet:roll:. What a bummer
what does market share have to do with anything and this game was announced for summer.Obviously they need to improve something in the game. This game was never announced for February, It was set for march in Japan and NA/EU shortly after for marketing reasons. No delay and no ownage.AgentA-Mi6
Why bother? Nobody will bother reading your post and just blindly believe the thread title, despite the fact that it was already anounced to be released in Japan first in MARCH.

ign is still saying March 2010.

March is japan version.
How long does it take to localize content? It's a Blu Ray disc, what the hell, they just have to release it with a few menu translations and voila you now have the NA version.[QUOTE="Espada12"][QUOTE="3sFan"]

I've got a good marketing reason, release it in a reasonable timeframe.[QUOTE="Espada12"]

So all those release dates on ign are for Japan?
Yea. That wiki page linked above has them as well.
After conflicting reports as to whenGT5would be released Sony announced at the 2009 Tokyo Game Show thatGran Turismo 5would be released in Japan on March 31, 2010, while European and North American release dates would be announced at a later date.

Yes they do. Alan wake does not have an official release date. Yet I still see on on Gamestops website.

Well then Gamespot, Gamestop, ign, were all wrong.
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/driving/granturismo52/news.html?sid=6230557&mode=news
If they were listing this game for February they were all wrong. Kazunori Yamauchi the director of Gt5 himself said the game had a solid release date for march in Japan and confirmed a 2010 release shortly after for NA/EU. Cold Hard Facts beat editorial estimates.
