Gran Turismo 5 is coming out this year

It's coming either at the same time as the Ps3 price drop, or roughly around the same time- give or take a few weeks.

Look at the facts.....

-The producer has gone on record to say that GT5 could be released any day now. Meaning it's pretty much already finished. They're just waiting on the proper strategic time to release it (ie. releasing your biggest game at the same time as a price drop = more $$$). If the game is already ready to be released, why would they hold it back until after the lucrative holiday season? They won't. Simple as that. There's no way Sony would intentionally miss out on the most lucrative season to make money.

-GT5 was the only upcoming game in the near future at E3 that did NOT have a release frame. Uncharted 2, God of War III, R&C, MAG, Heavy Rain, etc were all given release frames. GT5 was strangely not given a frame of release at all. Think about it... why wouldnt they tell us? Because it's popular consensus that GT5 will come out when their is a price drop. Hence, giving the release date of GT5 would give away the date of a price drop.

If you look over the rules you'll see that you cannot bump threads and you cannot bring back old threads

If you were right (and I don't think you are) it wouldn't be a great victory to be moderated on the same day

Its not real evidence. Its speculation quite honestly. A game does not need to release in the holdiday to be big either, GTA4, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brawl, Wii fit, Resident Evil 5 are all 5+ million sellers that were released after holiday season. Sony could wait because maybe they know that they have a packed holiday already and don't want to dampen potetial sales for them and third parties???? As for the price drop, pure specualtion. The game could come out this holiday but you need stronger evidence than that before I buy it.

I only hope gt5 releases this year, Forza 3 will slap it around. But like has been said, plyphony developers were caught at Turn 10's booth aking notes on the awesomeness that is Forza 3, this alone gives me the idea that we won't see gt5 until winter 2010 or spring 2011.

Way to mislead, TC. Since GT5 is one of my most anticipated titles, when I saw this thread's title, I thought, "Hell yeah! It might be really coming out this year" only to find out that it's merely some weaksauce speculation.

I doubt, but welcome it as long as it's finished up and polished nicely.

A. He said they could release it at any time , but that doesn't mean that they will in its current state. They probably want to add as much content and tracks as possible and make sure its polished product.

B. GT PSPis due this year. I'm sure hitting that October date is of the utmost importance to Sony right now.

C. They didn't give a release date for it at E3. It is theirbiggest and mostimportant franchise and E3 would be the time to relay thatmessage to the world (and retailers).

It's really doubtful at this point until they state otherwise.

Going by your line of thinking (ie the game could go gold within a week or two, it is only being delayed for strategic reasons and will be released along side a PS3 price cut), GT5 would be released either this August or September. It allows ample time for manufacturing, a PS3 price-cut for that time period is all but confirmed, and it would decimate the competition during the most important sales period of the year.

Here's the rub: if you were right, GT5 would have been playable on the E3 show floor, without question. Seeing as how that wasn't the case not only are you wrong, but GT5 is looking at a Q2 2010 release at the earliest.

Well, that's no evidence at all, TC. I would love to see GT5 come out this year, but with GT: PSP coming out in October, I kinda doubt it. They'll want everyone to buy that one first, THEN come out with 5.

Actually, it is. And all of the F3 screens so far have been bullshots because of the pure and simple fact that there is no driver in any of them. Proves they are all bullshots...
