Sony Computer Entertainment BeNeLux today announced a estimated price for the Blu-ray Disc-version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which will be released in december. The BD-version will cost you 45 euro's, according to Sony.

Sony emphasized that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is actually a full game, like Warhawk. With 40 cars, 5 tracks, 1080p graphics, 60 frames per second and a whole new online world for up to 16 people, this game is worth 45 euro's. Sony will also introduce a new feature, called GT TV. Here, you can download tv-shows about cars. These programs will be localised, so England for example will get Top Gear and The Netherlands will get for example Veronica's 'De grote Beurt'

Today, we sat in on a presentation hosted by Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi as he demonstrated some of the new features that will be present in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The game is due for release on the PlayStation Network as a free download later this year.

Thus Sony is on crack. No one will buy the BD version for 45...especially if what Spruce is saying is true and it is a free dl over PSN.

well looking back at motorstorm i'd say it's a pretty good deal.

What "demo" has:

16player online
HOME intergration
GT-TV - download
40 Cars
5 Tracks

Full single player with championships which you can win stuff on and offline multiplayer modes. Plus More.

Yeah thats what I thought I read. Maybe the Blu-ray version will only cost money due to it being on a disk and stuff, maybe it'll come with some sort of extras or such.

Im sure you will get more out of it than 6 hours of Heavenly Sword which is $60

So if u buy this and the full version, it will cost you $105, if this game isnt AAAA for that price then its a flop :P

How would they justify charging $60+ for a disc if the actual content is available for free elsewhere? A BD disc does not cost $60...

I know you love your Sony, but you should not defend this. They said it would be free, and if your link is to be trusted, they violated that promise in a huge way, and that should not be defended by anyone, most specifically, Sony fans should be the most upset.

why wouldn't you get upset with a company that offers the EXACT same thing in disc form but charges you $60USD for something that's free on their own network? BR disc don't cost that much to press. :|

If the PSN one is still free...if

Even if it is, it sure does not seem right to charge $60 for the same thing you are giving away free. It just seems wrong.

to be honest i wasn't happy to hear the suspected price point i was hoping for $30 at the most cosidering what you can get in the full game but adding online to it makes it have alot of replay value.. but 5 tracks even in mirror mode seems like the price isa bit much.. but i guess sony has to make money some how considering they run the servers for free.

Phil told us that is was a game , not a demo. Prologues have never been free either. I hope you guys aren't really let down by a mistake. And if it costs too much for the content iyo , just kindly pass and buy GT5 later.

Source

well this is for europe anyway... the game will problaly come a little earlier in the usa and problaby will be $40 dollars.

Don't lower your standards. For some reason, Sony is releasing a lot of shallow games to start of this gen.
