well gt5 has had more dev time then both forza 2 and forza 3 combined so i think its fare to compare and in my opinion the gfx from that video for gt5 look a lil worse than forza 2 from outside the car,
gt5 has nice cockpits though
the demo (if you would even call it that)is not a representation of the final gamewell gt5 has had more dev time then both forza 2 and forza 3 combined so i think its fare to compare and in my opinion the gfx from that video for gt5 look a lil worse than forza 2

This is true, the Motorstorm 2 Demo looked pretty meh but when I went over to my friends house to play the retail version I was shocked at how good it looked.

They created game engine in 2007 (Prologue) (Forza 2 was released in 2007 too), since than they just upgrading it (damage, weather/nigh, new physics ect.) just like T10 did with F2 engine.[QUOTE="killa4lyfe"]

And? At the moment, FM is a AAA franchise, while GT is AA. Until we actually see how it goes when GT5 comes out, just using a new engine isn't really proving anything.

What? I don't understand how that is a response to my post. Did my post suggest that FM is a bad franchise? Besides, comparisons between GT and FM can only be made with GT3/4 with FM1 so all the comparions people make are completely nullified by this fact unless they're gt3/4 fm1 comparisons[QUOTE="3sFan"][QUOTE="killa4lyfe"]real smart to compare an already out game to one that isnt finished ....:|killa4lyfe

Nope, one of the main reasons why this is a 5-year development cycle. The code form GT4 was completely scrapped and they made a new game engine from scratch.Damage is implemented. The fella driving is just bouncing of the sides ... :|
I hope the bumper car physics are fixed come release.

a new engine should mean more punishing mistakes, hopefully. One thing I really like in FM3 is the stick tarmac when you run off the track too much. Something Im sure PD will be employing.

I'd prefer more of a speed reduction, in addition to damage. The guy was literally sliding into the wall to get ahead and his speed was never reduced by anything similar to what would happen in real life.

Yes, reduction in speed is also a punishment. Personally, I'd like to see cars slide out of control after even a little crash at high speed.[QUOTE="sayonara89"]

yuck, that's not really machinima. that's some forza fanboy. look at his video series...all forza vids. wtf.
both systems set to 720p?....both games using component cables?
If they did not want to run GT5 in 1080p......at least run both games in 720p using HDMI cables...what do they have the oooold 360 skus or something...
also, does setting RGB to full for the PS3 EVEN make a difference if you are using component cables...I thought you needed to use HDMI for it to show a difference....heck it says RGB Full RANGE (HDMI) in the dang settings section....who are they trying to fool.:|
wow, i knew forza games had a cartoony look to them but side by side with GT5 they look real bad. (car model). is this artistic style done on purpose or what? because i want the cars to have a medal look to it not plastic

You've seen graphics on an unfinished product so yes, you can make graphical projections. Gameplay...unfinished and new engine. Something very few people have had the privilege of testing. Please consider what you want to say before saying it next time.both systems set to 720p?....both games using component cables?

Well if both are set to 720p and via component cables its pretty fair isn't it? And the GT5 demo doesn't even run in native 1080p anyway. (Or does it? I'm not entirely sure.)
Anyway i'm gonna get GT5 when it comes out and i already own and loved FM3, i just posted this because i thought people in SW might be interested in this. Its still much better then comparing photos from photomode.

Its Machinima, their new channel Machinimarespawn which is mainly for Gameplay videos. The videos in the related box are just a small suggestion of similar videos by them, they don't have any other GT5 videos (I think) thats why it only shows FM3 yet.

yeah, but by using component cables, it doesn't matter if the RGB Range is set to Full....so I was wondering why they would mention that...it is like they did not even go to the display settings menu in the XMB to set it to Full at ALL....I wonder what else they didn't do correctly....maybe it's in 480i

Maybe because people brought it up all the time in graphic comparisons? lol I think you can still set them to full even if you're on components...
And the video is in 720p for sure, or otherwise the HD option wouldn't be there.
