Gran Turismo 5 will have 10,000 cars WOW

at launch they will have 340.

i find it hard to believe there will be 10'000 cars. In fact are there even 10'000 cars worth putting in a game?

I thought I read somewhere that the developers spend an average of 180 days developing each car for GT5. Now I'm really confused.

10,000 is too many for any game, first off, probably 1-3% will be actually used, thats quite stretching it. Most of them won't be touched, or more than one time giggle experience. Hell, 1000 is alot.

I'd prefer they model hundreds of different courses throughout the world instead of thousands of cars.

i love the Gt franchise but i find it hard to swallow this as truth. First it list lambos and porsche. Thats enough to wonder:roll:

They also count Convertible and none Convertible as 2 differnet car types. Half this stuff does not at all affect gameplay.

You are assuming that Sony opts to use the 25 GB disc instead of the 50 which is what MGS4 is slated to use, as well as a number of other big budget games like Final Fantasy 13. Sony is trying to push their own media, why would they not use a larger disc to store more data? And I am sure a lot will be downloadablein bundles as well.
