Gran turismo 6 Information Thread.(Not a hype thread)

What we know so far. It's gone gold apparently. so it's only natural to share some info of what to expect.

And the official information released "so far"

The Cars.

How many cars are in the game, 1200,

Rally cars, F1 cars, LMP, Touring, Trucks, SUV, Vans, Karts, Shifter Karts, etc. for instance.

Ignore the multiple duplications of cars ie, Miata, Civic ...skylines, etc. And you have a very nice lineup.

200 are completely new to the series, with 78 more to be announced

Bringing the total "premium" car count to 500+ give or take.

A good majority of "standard" cars have been upgraded to premium, Toyota Supra RZ, Toyota 2000GT, Mercedes sauber C9 to name a few

Standard and Premium category has been dropped altogether, all cars are available in the car dealership for purchase.

Just as GT5, licences are optional, but the level up system has been dropped.

GT5's most concerning subjects.

1. AI has gone through an overhaul, Massively improved.

2.Sound, New sounds have been confirmed and other cars will be updated in day one patch.

3.Are standard cars in? Yes, But they have been upgraded.

4. Damage is permanent and has to be fixed in the GT Shop.

New Game features

Course maker.

Players will able to create courses up to 100x100 km

in various locations, spanding great distance.

Apps’ GPS Data

Meaning, it will record elevation changes and tiny details of the road you drive.

So for instance, if you drive on VIR or Road america, you can technically get a pretty accurate scale of each in GT.

The moon buggy is in, Which is highly irrelevant, but the moon, Is apparently a photomode location...

Now to the good stuff, the new physics engine

The Physics engine For GT6 has been completely redone, from the ground up.

This will especially effective with a Good steering wheel setup.

to simulate the feel of different types of tires in different types of road conditions.

Rain, Mud, snow, wet grass,dirt, dust and normal Dry pavement.

PD, has partnered with Yokohama tire, for the new tire physics

And KW automotive for the new Suspension Physics.

The Areo Physics have also been completely redone. apparently, PD went to NASA for data.(explains the moonbuggy)

This machine will be available in GT6 to fine tune suspension settings.

GT6 Legendary Celebrities to include.

F1 Champion Ayrton Senna: And the "playable career" of his

upbringing. from Karts, To F1.

And mario Andretti

More to be mentioned.

Possible Keiichi Tsuchiya.

Game size.

GT6 is 15 GB. a large day 1 patch will push that up TBA GB.

Good thread, but since GT7 is coming out next year...Gran Turismo 6 just seems like a cash in

At the very least, i think GT7 will hit holiday 2015 realistically.

Its just a fucking racing sim.

While I do have a bit of a difficult time believing that Polyphony can pump out two Gran Turismos in under 2 years - its still slated for a 2014 release.

And we all know that GT7 is going to IMMENSELY better than GT6.

How the hell did this game managed to look better than Forza? Isn't this supposed to be a PS3 game? How is this possible?

This pretty much makes the Xbox One/10 a 7th gen platform.

They take so damn long with games, it's hard to beileve...that's why i doubt 2014, 2015 seems alot more realistic.

Damn, the increase to 500+ "premium" cars is pretty nice and that track list is pretty sweet too.

Looks like I'm picking this one up.

Another reason I'm just going to wait for GT7.

Forza was originally designed to be an Xbox360 game they just forced ported it to the X1.

Well i would...but my G27 is itching for GT6 atm. i mean, i'm fucking pumped for GT7, especially after hearing about that Tech demo running on PS4.

But it's nice of them to put out a game that GT5 should of been, for all the fans.

I'm hyped. Won't get any more than a 7 here though. Note next gen is out, bars have once again been raised, so critically this will flop... Sales though...

I cannot wait to see more about the gt mode in this title, I hope rally will be back like it was in GT4.

I'm not sure what to think about that one. If they wanted to add in a layer of realistic damage - then why not expand their entire damage platform to make it more realistic?

Say they add the ability for your clutch to brake? Or for your suspension to collapse?

Permanent damage doesn't seem like the right way to go about it

Stuff like being able to wash your car or change your oil are reasons why I don't think I'll ever really enjoy GT like I do Forza.

In some facets, the Gran Turismo series just trys too hard.

Gran Turismo captures tries to capture everything a race car is - even the bad and tedious parts. Would the game really be worse off if such features were removed?

I doubt we will see GT7 for quite a while yet, I know PD said 2014 best case scenario, but they also said best case scenario would be 2009 for GT5 and we all know how that turned out!

Truth be, Mr GT is perfectionist and will take his time with making GT7 live up to his vision. He won't set himself a strict deadline, and Sony will give him a lot of free reign within reason.

So with that, I don't think it's likely we will see a GT7 release before Q3 2015 at the earliest.

In agreement with you there, some parts of GT do feel... Antiquated and unnecessary, though there is still a large enough chunk to me that remains relevant.

Why did TC change his hype from 8 to 7?

I can careless about car washes and shit like that, as long as they physics have been vastly improved over 5, which were pretty good to start with, but so far, i have heard nothing but praise. (Physics wise)

Can't wait for McShea to tear it to shreds. I hope it gets 4.0 for the massive lulz and cow butthurt.

Not updating the sound effects of the cars but having time to recreate the moon driving just makes my brain hurt trying to think of how they got their priorities messed up. They should have spent the two years they did making this and just redid their entire catalogue of engine and tire sounds... it would have been time and money better spent.

That's just sad if you actually want it to fail..that badly. and i guess you missed a good chunk of the post.. because i specifically highlighted Engine sounds..come on man.. it's at the beginning of the post..

Calvert reviews all racing games, not mcshea... Gt6 is a little to ambitious for ps3.. All the insanely detailed car models, dynamic physics, dynamic weather. It all sounds great but the ps3 can't hang and that's why there is a noticeable downgrade in gameplay versus trailers, even though they are in engine

The reason gt7 won't take long is because it will essentially be the exact same game with some new cars and hopefully new sounds. Most of the assets cans be re used, they are too much for ps3 anywayanyway and will be right at home on ps4

it's funny that a rushed gimped game like Forza 5 can still get a 9 but a complete package like GT6 might not even get an 8. What's the world coming to?

GT5 was probably my most played game on PS3. GT6 looks like it will keep me playing my PS3 longer than I planned. I'm hyping this game 9/10 it looks a lot more complete than Forza 5 and other than Graphics I think it will be the better game. GT7 can't come soon enough.

I don't think that "fun" is priority for PD. They only care about making the most realistic game they can and if you have fun with it then that's on you but that wasn't their intention. XD

But realistically speaking, there are real night races.

I dont play racing games. But this gamer looks funner than Forza 5 - More cars, more tracks, night/day/wheather/1080p/60fps.

Plus, creating your own tracks, how awesome is that?

So many features NOT in Forza 5 seems like GT6 should get a good score. Not that it matters I am going to pick this game up guess I should dust off GT5.

GT6 looks pretty ugly though. Don't get deceived by the promo screens and "gameplay" running on replay mode. The game's actually riddled with screen tear and jaggies just like GT5. And it only gets worse when you're playing at 1080p and there are more than 2 cars on screen. The game's very unstable frame-rate wise.

but you can bet that it will not. GT franchise kind of got this stigma on it which PD can't get rid off no matter what even though GT5 was a great game.
