We already know that Sony has given out PS5 dev kits to several devs in the industry, no doubt that PD is one of the first chosen devs who have had one these kits.
Even if this is just rendering, if this is a glimpse into what PS5 is capable of producing I don't think we need to worry about the power narrative.

Needs 128 ROPS with 8 MB L2 cache since Vega's 64 ROPS with 4MB L2 cache is 2X from X1X's 32 ROPS with 2MB render cache.
Polaris 10/20 doesn't have X1X GPU's 2MB render cache.
Polaris 10/20/PS4 Pro and X1X has 2MB L2 cache but they are not connected to L2 cache, hence X1X GPU's ROPS with 2MB render cache was nearly Vega ROPS design.
NVIDIA Turing GPUs has 2X L2 cache storage over Pascal counterparts which are connected to ROPS.
For raster graphics, TFLOPS is useless without read/write units from ROPS.

PS4 and 7870 (212 mm2 chip size) has "Fine Wine" which is too bad for NVIDIA's counterpart which is badly aged GK106 (221 mm2 chip size).
8 core ARM Cortex A15 + GK106 would be NVIDIA solution against AMD's 8 Jaguar cores + 7870.
Jaguar still beats Cortex A57/A72 at IPC physics score with Ice Storm Unlimited benchmark.

Polyphony Digital did say a while ago that their cars in GT Sport are made to be future proof. They made them to stand up to scrutiny in 8K for future systems so this isn't surprising to me. It's part of the reason their cars are so detailed compared to the competition, they really put in the work....

Low polygon count budget still shows AMD GPU's weakness. Vega 64 only has GP104 level polygon/geometry power.
FM7 has dynamatic weather which doesn't exist in the current PS4's GT Sport. 120 fps for Vega 64 LC on FM7 like geometry budget at about 40 fps... Vega 64's geometry power needs to at least double e.g. 8 lanes vs Vega 56/64's 4 lanes. To build R9-290X, AMD doubled nearly every thing on 7870.
Vega 24 M GH already has four lane geometry and 64 ROPS with 24 CU, new AMD GPU needs to scale from this GPU.
Native 8K 120 FPS would be impossible by all accounts on PS5 even if we just kept the same graphical fidelity of GT Sport. That requires 32x the power of a PS4 and even then, you can't do much to increase texture quality, lighting quality, or polygon count without severe optimization.
Besides, I'd rather play it on a PSVR2 headset anyway even if it was 8K 120 FPS and shipped with a free 8K 120Hz TV.

C'mon guys let the poor cow be. Didn't you know, it's just rendering @8K/120FPS and we all know you don't need any hardware to do that. I mean Yoshida can render 8K@120FPS out of the gas from his a$$. And most definitely it's not PC hardware since PS4 is totally made out of technology from proprietary top-secret Alien technology which Kaz got from one of his visit to Krypton.
@XVision84: Exactly, there's no point in wasting power on anything higher than 4k. Can barely tell the difference from 1080p and 4k in games as it is. Put the extra power to fps and fidelity.

PS5 won't be running games at 8k or 120fps, this GT Sport presentation was just rendering the game and nothing more. Still being able to render GT Sport 8k at 120fps points to an incredibly powerful hardware setup and should have no problem running current gen games at a steady 4k 60fps.
Xbox fanboys seem extremely threatened and on edge at the possibility that a PS5 dev kit running that demo. The MS drones are upset that PS5 will be a true next gen system with real exclusives that blow away this generation of games and anything on their $500 X so they are all in damage control mode because of it.
