I just sign into PSN, but yeh I dont play it online anyways. Its more of a 1p game to me, still playing it, great game.
gta4 on pcs is notably one of the few multiplats that are better on consoles

Totally disagree. Sure you need to jump through loops, but the PC version of GTA 4 is the first version of any GTA game where everything controls better, including vehicles.
And yes, I own GTA4 on PC and EOLC on my console. And there is no question what version is better.
And to TC, I haven't touched multiplayer, but the SP only need Rockstar Social Club to run. I bought it on Steam, but I don't even need to run Steam. Hell, I even skipped the Games For Windows sign up. Didn't need it.
GTAIV on PC is not bad by any means.Rockstar stick it to the pirates on GTA 4. The game is so bad on PC they don't even download it.

I hear it's not very optimized though.
Well, on my medium-low PC, it looks and runs better than both console versions.
So I think I might disagree.
I hear it's not very optimized though.GTAIV runs fine for me, but Episodes from Liberty City on PC gives me some framerate issues oddly enough.xhawk27
I thought they removed the need to log into Rockstar Social Club, and even if they didn't just set it to auto log in.
Buying it on Steam was your choice, and how Steam can be considered a negative i don't know.
All i have to do is log into Games for Windows live, takes 2 seconds.

GTA 4 on PC controls like ass. Worse implementation of mouse control I've ever dealt with in a game.Additionally, the latest patch kills the game's optimization. I used to run the game maxed @ 1680x1050 and get 60 FPS. After the latest patch I don't even get 25 FPS anymore, and it studders terribly.

GFWL signs me in automatically while the game loads up for me, so even then I think it's a moot complaint to be quite honest :?I thought they removed the need to log into Rockstar Social Club, and even if they didn't just set it to auto log in.

I can't disagree more, the keyboard controls for driving are very solid, i can take corners with ease flawless over and over, bikes are easy as well, the mouse only makes this better by looking before turning into corners, its far easier than a controller for looking around while driving imo. When your on foot there is no question a mouse is better because of the accuracy a mouse gives.
Every GTA game has always had solid m/kb controls, GTA4s are the best so far imo.
The only time i ever pick up the controller is for choppers, which don't feel right with the mouse, but thats all.

I agree totally. The driving is much better on the PC. And so is performing drive bys.

If you move your mouse slow enough, your cursor won't move in game. This leaves precise aiming to be nearly impossible. All slight mouse movement is ignored. Some people claim to not notice this, which leads me to believe one of the following... A) These people aren't good enough at PC FPS games to know what I'm talking about. B) This problem is exclusive to Windows 7, or 64 Bit Systems, or both. C) These people use auto-aim, and haven't played the multiplayer competitively yet. D) This problem is exclusive to only me and my circle of friends who I play PC games with. (highly unlikely)GTAIV on PC is not bad by any means.[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="xhawk27"]

It takes a monster PC to run it at max. But running it at the same settings as the console version is easy. With mods, GTA 4 looks incredible on the PC.
I would say it actually controls better on the PC as well, the fact that you dont need lock on is nice, the vehicals control well with a keyboard, only problem is the choopers, but its not a big deal.

Sounds similar to what many had in Dead Space which i didn't have either. I'm on Win 7, 64bit. V-sync and mouse smoothing can cause this.
Aiming is just a breeze, i can pull headshots everytime while driving at speed. I'm sure you and many others may have issues, but many also don't.

I should say it's your skill - your skill isn't being limited by the bad controls since you were never good at aiming in the first place. But if you want to go at some CS:S or something, let's go. ;)[QUOTE="Zarkuna"]

I disagree greatly. The PC controls in GTA4 are really bad. I think its laughable to say that the vehicle are better on the PC. I don't get any reason why you would say that.Yeah, I never played GTA IV on PC in the end because of all the crap they expected me to do just to play it. This myth about PC GTA IV being the prime example of a terrible port needs to die off. First of all, it looks and runs better than its console counterpart on nearly every somewhat modern machine out there (that is, since even the lower settings of the PC version are higher than those on consoles). At 640p (well, to be fair, 720p for the Xbox 360) and some severe stuttering at that, it's not exactly a gruelling feat to best the performance of either console.
I'm running the game on a Phenom II X4 940 coupled with a GeForce GTX 280 (soon-to-be two years old GPU) at much higher settings, and at a highly desirable framerate, than what the 360/PS3 would be able to achieve combined. I was frankly quite shocked to see how atrocious the Xbox 360 version of EFLC looked in comparison, since when I first played GTA IV, shortly after the release of the console versions, it was a great looking game.
One of the problems at hand is most likely that many PC gamers are more or less used to a framerate of no lower than 30-40 FPS on a minimum. Since GTA IV was one of the first, at that time, so called 'horrible' ports released for the PC, it was probably regarded as such due to the fact that for a PC game, it generally performed bad, when in reality it wasn't really worse than the console iterations.
On a side note, or, rather on topic, RGSC is not required as of the latest patch. It's automatically uninstalled right after applying the 1.0.6.0 patch.

Are you trolling? I am asking you because nothing is correct of what you said and you are trying to get attention.
You don't have to sign into Steam because Steam starts when you start your PC. Also Rockstar Social Club and Windows LIVE are sign automatic. The only thing that you have to do is to double-click the game icon and after a few seconds you are in the game. So fast and simple...

The issue is... he needs 3 seperate accounts to play this game. I got Dirt2 free with my videocard (steam download) and I was pissed to find out that I had to make a LIVE for windows account.
...I ended up not playing the game at all.

everything sign automatic... the same thing you can say for the xbox that you need to create a LIVE account the first time. The same is with the windows LIVE, but the only differences is that you don't need to pay $50 per year...
