Well, I was playing GTA4 and was planning on just running around killing cops.. (Had just done the last Playboy/Dwayne mission)
I load the game up and it just shows a brick wall... glitches a second... then a gun goes off and then bam. Its normal. Niko is in his apartment and everythings alright. I thought this was really weird... but just continued... thinking it was the CD or something.
So, about fifteen minutes in my cop killing rampage I start shooting the choppers down left and right. Well... not too long after that the game freezes, makes a cringing sound, and little green boxes with distortion pop on the screen everywhere.
I quickly turn the 360 off and wait a little bit... then turn it back on.
Bingo. Red ring of death.
I can't say I wasn't expecting it... because something similar happened a long time ago when I played GRAW with a friend in my FEMA back in the day.
But anyways... I just blew it off and took it easy... went to the Microsoft website and was going to file the repair thing for my registered box. My... warranty... ended three months ago. -_-
I find this odd considering this console was purchased not even a year and a half ago.
Did they discontinue the three year thing?
This is my sixth RROD. (Yes, I know... I have bad luck with technology) Not all of them happened over time though... three of the RRODs I've had were straight from Gamestop... first time I turned them on something was wrong. One had a bad Hard Drive... another GPU... ect ect. But I never messed with it... never dropped it or had it fall over... I kept it clean and didn't let dust get to it. I think it has something to do with the heat sinks and chips expanding... but who knows.
Anyone else had this problem with the glitchy green squares or six RRODs? I've heard having four is like "Wow" but what the hell does that make six. -_-
