Grand Theft Auto 5 as early as next year?

I know this is an analyst article, but Pachter apparently knows for a fact that GTA5 has been in development for over a year and will be releasing late next year/early 2011 (2011 is more likely).

This is awesome news but not really surprising considering how fast the games came out last generation.

There will not be another GTA this gen. They put to much effort and hard work into GTA and its amazing environment. They are also working on Agent, Red Dead, and Max Payne.

Just what we need, another Red Dead Revolver.

Maybe Neversoft can make another GUN while they're at it. (sarcasm)

Yeah right, it can't have more quality than GTA4, GTA4 was so damn good.

This has to be the least exciting game news in years. GTA IV was awful and this one coming so quickly does not bode well for it.

I'm guessing this game will be more interesting too. GTA3 was similar to GTA4 in terms of weapons and stuff it was a bit dull.

I think with the new game now that they have the engine out of the way maybe they'll listen to fans and give back some of the awesome weapons and cheats and stuff from Vice City and SA.

Money? GTA5 will make way more than any of their other games ever will. So I'd say buckets of money and pleasing the fans is good enough reason for Rockstar to make another one.

That's like expecting Super Mario Strikers to have more quality than Super Mario Galaxy.

GTA is Rockstar's main franchise, while Red Dead is a side franchise. The side franchise probably won't have more quality than the main franchise.

Also, if you look at the time of release between San Andreas and GTA4, it's quite a while. GTA games have a long devlopment window due to their complexity and sandbox focus.

There's two more DLC coming, one at the end of this year and the last probably next spring/summer.

I am always interested in a GTA console game

Rockstar is really good about making quality games fast(released VC 1 year after GTA 3) But they are working an lot of new titles Like Agent, Red Dead Revolver and Max Pain. So who knows.

I personally would like to see gta4 dlc that has to do with the crooked cops and Francis. SAGE_OF_FIRE

I would like them to make a complete game like they used to instead of nickle and diming us with dlc this gen...but thats probably too much to ask as thats the direction every game company seems to be going and it sucks

Why are people saying that this is early??? There's a year span between GTA3 and GTA:VC, and a 2 year span between VC and SA. GTA:IV was released april 29th, 2008. Now its July 2009 and speculations say that the game is expected sometime in 2010, that's about enough time as usual, why is it too early again?
