Graphically, New Tomb Raider on par with Uncharted 3

They are at the very least on par with each other and some effects like the fire in Tomb Raider actually looks better. Also as I'm looking at these shots I actually prefer the gritty realistic Lara rather than the cartoony looks of UC3. Also Tomb Raider is in Pre-Alpha stage and it's already looking kinda sick so what's gonna happen once the final retail version is released? :shock: Obviously anything can happen and the game could bomb but so far from what I've seen it's looking quite yummy 8)

But they did revive it. This gen's tomb raiders are great, and they have better platforming and puzzles than Uncharted. The combat is awful though.

IF there is a PC version it might. I need to watch the gameplay demo (I think there is more than the opening, but if not I saw that). As for that opening, it wasn't up to Uncharted 3 standards.

I think the new Tomb Raider game looks awesome and what little I have seen looks to do the name justice. This was one of the games of the show for me, to take it from where previous Tomb Raider games where and to bring it to where it is now is a serious step in quality. I dont know if its as good as UC3 graphically as the footage I seen was very dark on a highly compressed 720p stream but being a 2012 game it still has some way to go.

Exactly. Animations are huge, and Uncharted does this extemely well. TOmb Raiders are good but need work.

From what I saw it didn't looked on par. The lighting, textures and animation seemed slightly inferior.

I wish they would have showed the survival and open enviroment apsects of the game.

Tomb Raider UNderworld has a meta of 75 and Anniversary has a meta of 77-78 I believe. Tomb Raider Legend is the only one with a meta of above 80 but that game came out before Uncharted in 05, so it's a give or take.:P None of them scored a 85 this gen.

Dunno about that ... It'll be a far far far better platformer, and have much better puzzles. If they can get the combat and survival part right it'l.be the better game too.

I was referring to Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light, which has an 85 on 360. I'll give you anniversary though, I only saw the PC version since it came up first which has an 83. They were still good Tomb Raider games though, definitely better than Sonic, and they actually managed to revive themselves from a slump unlike Sonic.

The main reason I'm interested in this is because Lara Croft + TGOL had amazing puzzles, which was one of the things that made Tomb Raider great, which shows they can still master those puzzle elements, it was just the stale combat and platforming that was really letting those other games down. If they can make the survival elements and the main gameplay really interesting and then still keep those puzzles (it's a mystery island, and there's bound to be tombs at some point) then it could rock.

for all we know they were playing the PC version at E3

To be fair, I don't think the new raider will be a bad game, may easily be a good game, but it won't be a great game.

It won't get GOTY nominations, or be a front runner like U3.

I'm just really sick of Raider fans (note: not you, others) who overhype it as the second comming when their are much better games comming out (U3,Zelda, Gears, skrym, Darksoul, R3, TM, R&C, BF3, TOR[still suposed to be 2011], heck even MW3)

There's a PC version for just about every Tomb Raider game, and I'm getting that version to max her out.

But until we see that version, UC3 still has the edge.

Whats up with ppl these days, they really hit the "new low and please "define" horrible just pretty please.. Cuz most of todays gamers , really sounds like you guys are developers and could do something better, all they do is bashing games if it doesnt fit their taste, pretty laughable actually :)
