Graphics Preformance PS3 vs Xbox 360, want opinion

btu then again look at killzone 2, or Heavy Rain, or resistance 2, or Wardevil, they destroy all the 360 games, but lemmings keep oging back and saying well we got alan wake then they show a screen form the DX10 demo of alan wake on one of the worlds most powerful PCs....dam fanboys are useless you will just never learnGamingrulez

Uncharted, GT 5, R&C, are better graphicaly than those games IMO. (plus theres a few more like UT 3)

I was thinking the same thing R&C is more like high preformence then high graphics

ps3 can unleash more potenial

but teachnically they both can do same stuff

as the burnout devs stated that 360 gpu is not better than ps3s

they both can produced equality depending on how devs use them

well bunout must be an excepion then, gs says they look basicly identical but the ps3 version is slightly better

Just get what suits you. I own both and can tell you the playing field is getting more equal. I personally feel GT5 looks better than Forza 2.

Uncharted looks great, but suffers from some texture pop-in here and there, but so did Gears of War.

I would just look at the game reviews and decide what you want. If you like FPS games, go 360, I think the controller is better for those.

How are the PS3's graphics now on newer games? When gamespot had its graphics comparison, it seemed as though they thought that the xbox had the better preformance, but with all of these new games, how is the preformance now?orc57

really ,really close, but 360 still wins, due the ps3s ram, multiplatform games on the ps3 look like they have abit more blur in their textures...but some games like turok, lots of plolygons and geomtery are missing, we assume not because of hard ware, but because of devs....but who knows. Games like uncharted ppl say look awosme on the ps3. which they do. But are not the best. The game repeast lots of etxtures because of the ram. Instead of having more variation of textures making them looked blurrred (muddied, washed out) they limited the textures and made high res textures. The game also use snormal mapping alot....there is not alot of geomtery in uncharted which gives it's boast. Which is really why it looks good in screen shots and alike. the same can be done the 360 and has been with games like bioshock, where they use lots of normal mapping over geometery to get a desired look....

When u zoom in on normal mapped textures they look all blurry and stuch, so devs try to make it so u can't zoom in on them or get close. Its like when u look at a painting a from a distance it can look more toghter and real then when close up when u can see the brush strokes and such...u know....but yeah ps3 just loses by a hair in over all graphics, but devs can really do some work on the machine to make it look really good, mabe make it seem like the ps3 is the graphics power house..which in reality it isn't. its smart devs.

really since the graphics are so neck and neck atm, its up to user...one reason we have huge fanboy graphic debates on SW....but u can always tell what one is superior if u really crack down and look at it. from a far lots of things and look good...just got to get up close to tell the truth, thats where i've found many 360 games hold true when u zoom up on the textures they don't blur out, i'm talking halo graphics..even tho not amazing the textures when u zoom up on them stay strong, as with bioshocks and pdz 0 even with how horrible of a game it is. heck even gears....when u look at a game using the same engine as gears on the ps3, u zoom up on textures they are washed out...and on gears they are not...they rather look like stainless steel on the 360 when zoom up on gears' textures...which imo is still nasty, but at least is not washed out like ut3 on the ps3....oh well its neck and neck anyways, its up to the fanboys to decide...oh wait...lol nah, but yeah, just decude for yourself...personally telling ya, when your looking at a console this gen and the next, don't look at the graphics look at the games...well between ps3 and 360...with the wii look for something polished and has responsive controls.

oh yeah gt5 prologue is way better then forza, way better.

GT5 is "just" beter than forza overall.

Graphically GT5 is better, but I prefer the physics of forza games.

yeah, exactly...lol i have gt5 prologue, pgr4 and forza for that reason, forza has the physics and realism which is fun some days, pgr 4is total arcade which is fun other days and gt 5 is lil bit in between with nice graphics and that fits in here and there when i wanna race on consoles.

the 360 has the same amount of ram but it is slower. the ps3s cpu and gpu combined do two times the tflops of the 360 which means that it has twice the theoretical power of the 360. Do research before blurting out random crap

GS is still a creadible Review source. its jsut guys like you that believe into Rumors and Speculation that think otehrwise.
