Okay, get this.

First of all, I had to take a pic for proof, because if someone else told ME this story, I would NOT believe them. I've been a console fan all my life. Yeah, i played PC classics, but nothing new with crazy requirements that all the hermits brag about. I would have loved to dip into the PC world a while ago, but unfortunately, the steep "entry-level" price is what always got in the way.

Now..... I will finally (within the next week) be able to tell you how great it really is to be a hermit, and how much the experience varies from console gaming. Yes, ladies and gents, christmas came a little early this year for me. And I have a total idiot to thank for it.

This younger kid (I'm 22) that lives really close to me got a xmas present from his father-in-law. He said it was stupid videocard or something, and he was mad because his PC couldn't use it. He was really ticked about it, and mainly blamed his dad being so stupid to buy him some "crap" that wouldn't even work on his computer. Well, to make a long story short, I became interested after discovering what the card was, and told him I'd give him my copy of COD4 and $50. He thought that was an incredible deal, and judging by his attitude, he thought he was making out on the deal because i was giving him "so much".

Well.... I just have to say: I, for once in my life, can say that I LOVE stupid people. I hope the kid enjoys COD4 and spends his $50 well.

Nah, I doubt it. Apparently, his father in law lives several states away. And even if he DID live by me.... he probably wouldn't do jack out of embarrassmentbecause his retarded sonsold afive hundred-some video card for less than a $100.

But, I DO have to perform a couple upgrades to my PC before I install this baby. Are you in the know as far as hardware? Because I need a few opinions. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh, btw, you gotta admit I'm one lucky dude, lol.

You are indeed a lucky dude.

As to helping you out, I'm ok doing stuff for myself, but no good with advice. I'd ask in the PC forum.

Personally I'd core for the biggest base system I could, with 2Gig + RAM and a Quad Pentium or Dual Athlon, the rest I'd have to do the same as you and ask.

Poor kid, though. But, what the hell. Congrats on the purchase! If his father had explained stuff to him, he probably wouldn't have sold it, so it's partially his father's fault, I guess.. Got the same card myself, but I paid 600 bucks for mine. :P (note that stuff, especially computer-stuff, is a lot more expensive in Sweden than the US)

Well, all I can say to the topic creator is this, if the "kids" 18+, yeah I'd be laughing, but if the "kids" anywhere 14 or something, I'd be giving that card back straight away...it's just the right thing to do.

Sure. People pay for water, yet it is available for free. XBL is a service and the best online service on the consoles. I don't have a problem paying 50 bucks a year for it. Just like occasionally I buy a bottle of water from the store while I'm out, yet I have tap water at home.

should XBL be free? I'm really tired of arguing the point. I'm satisfied with it's intergration through all XBL titles. While PSN is free, I find it lacking in lots of areas.

Wow you're a jerk. I hope you still value your theft when it's worth 50 bucks a few years down the road and what it has cost to your integrity.
