Great interview about The Last of Us - Giant bomb

Apparently they were shown the same E3 demo but with stealth!

Yeah the Demo at E3 didn't do the game justice for me, it made it look like a gritty Uncharted with a few new features.

But all these details about choices of skipping fights, the girl helping out depending on what the situation is (and not just scripted to happen the same way every time), and the crafting (completely missed that when I first watched the Demo) truly make this game sound awesome! Really looking forward to it now!

People can say what they want but this game is going to do really well and be incredibly well received.

Yeah, if it gets a 9, 9.5, or (god forbid for SW), 10, Cows will NEVER SHUT UP.

If it gets an 8.5 or less, lems will NEVER SHUT UP.

I honestly hope the first one happens since it would mean the game is amazing and worth buying, and I can just ignore SW while I enjoy this fantastic game.

I think I'm most interested in seeing more of ellie. She doesn't seem so forced like most ai teammates, and how she can go into a fight with you and actually be of use is great. Glad to here more about how stealth plays out, and that it'll be a risk/reward type situation as well.

Personally, I don't care about the machinations of SW and its fanboys.

I want it to be a 10, because I want it to be an amazing game. I want Halo 4 to be a 10, as well as Gears of War judgement. Honestly, I don't care about SW or how people act here, I simply want the best for the games I play and the gaming industry in general, and its not like the lems should care.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that suddenly the level itself is different between the two demos?

In the IGN writeup about the private demo they mention that the ladder used to crawl up the hotel in the E3 demo suddenly wasn't there in the private demo.

That either means one of two things:

A) Levels are also being somewhat randomly generated or

B) This whole thing about it being the same demo is just BS.

They have yet to say anything about dynamic levels so I am quite confused by this.....

Simply the fact that its made by ND turns it into Uncharted for someone who just has nothing better to do then hate on a great game, by saying its like another great game.

I'd say at least a 9.0, ND's cred alone would get them at least an 8.5, but this looks like a breath of fresh air in the current gaming environment. A game about true survival, with deadly but humanized AI enemies, and a somewhat Deus Ex way of open combat options and levels.

Its easily one of my top 5 most anticipated games right now, along with GTA V, Far Cry 3, Gears of War: Judgement and Bioshock Infinite (not in the order necessarily).

No matter what happens, this will happend when we see the review. :P

I hope the release date stays open, and remains flexible, so that Naughty Dog can have the time they need to make the Last of Us as awesome as humanly possible .

Its kind of hard to explain lol but I just don't like it when a firm release date is set so early.

I feel like, let the especially UBER TALENTED and industry best Naughty Dog, do their THANG, and do what they do best, AND THEN set the release date in accordance to what they are doing, and accomplishing IMO ect

And if they need more time, then delay the game, and make it as awesome as possible. You get me?

Sony is the best with supporting their stable of great developers to the fullest, so I'm sure they'll give Last of Us the time it needs to be made as awesome as possible, and the same goes for the great looking GOW: Ascension.

this is a great reason why you should never sell the hardware.

I barely play my Wii and even less so my 360. but because of Last Story/XenoBlade, and Gears of War Judgment and Halo 4. I can still play those when they eventually show up.

I've read so much so far on this Game that i'm already to go on blackout.
