I am impressed at how much more open it is and how much larger it seems than Fable II in general. The vistas and overall environments are really beautiful as well. Yes, it may be watered down RPG-wise, but I just think it is going to be a 'just plain fun' sort of game and will be much better than Fable II was. Cannot wait.

You know, what a lot of people seem to be forgetting is the fun factor here. No, Fable is not some complex RPG, but so what? I love my deep role playing games, but sometimes it is nice just to kick back with a game that is simply striving to be fun. Fable is just such a series and just because it may not be a hardcore RPG, it will not take away any enjoyment that I will get out of exploring the beautiful world, becoming king of Albion and simply having a good time being good or evil.

The first 2 bored me to tears, but I love the charming art direction. If the combat was more fun. I'd buy it.

Feel the same and I couldn't agree more and I'm all on-board the Fable fun train and this one does seem to have a bunch of what I really enjoy... exploration. I can't wait to get started. :)

Looking good. The only thing I really hope for is a steady framerate (my main annoyance with 2). The Hole looks awesome and Brightwall Village looks noticeably bigger than Bowerstone. Really liking what I'm finding out.

what's going on where are all the fable haters? It usually seems like Fable has more vocalized hate than love but in terms of reality it seems to get lots of love.

You just made it sound like some sort of lite RPG, when it's not an RPG.

Anyways towards the video, the combat doesn't look interesting and that's a deal breaker for action games to me.

All I said was that it is more open than Fable II... and it is. I then went on to say that it was watered down RPG-wise, as it is more so than ever. Customization, moral choices and exploration is about as close to being an RPG as it gets, and yes, I am aware that Peter even acknowledged that he wanted to go more in the action-adventure direction. I don't care, I just want to play a fun game here.

As for the combat, it is indeed streamlined and simple, but again, it will not take any of the enjoyment out of the game for me. I simply think it will be fun exploring the atmospheric world, becoming king and experiencing the game from a good and evil point of view. It will be a 'just plain fun' sort of game and I am personally looking forward to it. Sometimes just being fun is enough, but of course what is considered fun is subjective. Sorry it does not do it for you.

It's fine either way, I don't get to play a game on a system I (sadly) do not own and you get to.

I doubt this is the first time something like this happened in our rocky relationship!

Do you not have a PC that will run it? I surely don't, and that is why this might as well be a 360 exclusive for me. In fact, it is the game that is saving the 360 this year as far as my tastes are concerned.

same here, I played fable 2 more than probably all my ps3 games combined and with this kind of video I'm expecting to get bored of it around 2012.

i dont know why people complain about the combat... its an RPG... not a FPS. People praise the witcher and that game had one of the most awful combat systems ever.

just like every other 360 'series' weird trend huh.

as for Fable 3. it looks pretty good. I've known Fable 2 to be a love/hate game from reading responses. I think this one has a bright future. if it can break out of the negativity that was Fable 2.

Tough choice between this and Fallout.

Looking good though, I hope they improved the responsiveness of the controls.

Going to check the video now, but liking the excitement about Fable. It gets a lot of hate here (mainly Molyneux related), but I played through 2 this year and absolutely loved it. This is on my want list.

yea i missed the armor... it made sense that they wanted to implement the clothing system like they did for multiplayer so everyone's character would look different.... but then they never delivered on the multiplayer and i just felt cheated.

Umm am I the only one who thinks this...? That first part was VERY linear, when I heard the world was bigger I thought it meant more open not just more stretched out. Granted, I only watched half the video and I did think the towns looked great but still...

It still has paths, but there are simply more open areas to explore. Did you not see the part down by the lake or all of the impressive vistas that he clearly said you could walk to? It is obviously not entirely open world, but it is far more open and much grander in scale than the previous two installments.

Yeah I saw that but it honestly didnt seem any different from Bower Lake :(
