You KNOW somebody is gonna say halo...
Anyways, even though it scored AAA here, I would say Assassin's Creed.

Youtube really has turned to crap. It was The Last Remnant btw.
Fore Unleashed comes to mind.thepoop7This as well. I was so excited when I saw the first trailer for that game.
Assassin's Creed. It looked like a really cool game when that first trailer came out. I still enjoyed it but it felt like a chore at times.
All Advent Rising trailers. Especially this one
:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIOvCfW0kJo
the game looked so incredibly epic
Also, Star Wars: Force Unleashed. It wasn't a horrible game, but the trailers seemed to show so much more potential than the final product. It was mostly driven by its great story sequences and a few cool physics gimmicks. I didn't get nearly the satisfaction of force/lightsaber combat that I got out of the Jedi Knight series.
Assassins Creed 1
Before the game came out, I was thinking it was gonna be one of the best games ever. Turned out to be a great game (IMO) but very disappointing none the less.

I was by no means excited about this game and I had but the slightest interest for it but the trailer was pretty cool. A year or so later, I picked up the game in the bargain bin and I was extremely disappointed. Terrible game. It's one of those games for the diehard fans.

Devil May Cry 4 - Trailer was the best I have seen in years, shame the game wasnt as good as 1 or 3
[QUOTE="lucky_star"]You never played the game yet. No one of the general public has played the game. Your statement has no validity what so ever. He was just saying the trailer was that amazing. It was god-like imo. So he's right. It's all an opinion. An opinion doesn't need to be valid to anyone but the person making it.Deus Ex: Human Revolution full E3 trailer :P
There is no way the game can live up to it.

any trailer to any MMO game ever
games like WoW and the old republic come to mind (yes i know it's not out yet) and what i mean by that is the actual games themselves are GOOD, and these CGi trailers look AMAZING, but they have absolutely NOTHING to do with the actual game
i mean everyone has gotten so indulged over the last two old republic trailers and yes they are eye candy and simply amazing...it's just it has nothing to do with the game ya know?

My thoughts exactly.
Off the top of my head:
Grand Theft Auto IV. Rockstar knows how to make a great trailer and they deliver on the games...Usually...>.> Niko's considered a psychopath by everyone he meets (even Johnny of The Lost) and there was simply not enough action there was hyped up to be by both trailers and the series' history.
I wish BioShock had gameplay like this. I knew it wouldn't, but I was hoping the gameplay would be decent and the atmosphere would absorb me. I should've paid more attention to actual gameplay. Seriously, when a shotgun doesn't send someone flying at point blank range who isn't a million pounds nor rooted to the ground, you know something's wrong. It ruined any chance of being immersed with the game for me.
Off-topic: I should stop using GameTrailers. The commercials are so annoying. :x
Edit: Resident Evil 5 needed more (yes, this was from a trailer), less lame scare attempts, and a lot less Sheva.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that one. :( Good game, but in my opinion, it just doesn't match up with other Nintendo Zelda games.I was so young and impressionable back in 2004.
Why Nintendo, why?

I would probably say the first Killzone, I was expecting so much more from that game. This gen it would be Redsteel I think.

Haven't played it, but I'd probably agree if I did. I put some of the blame on the overall hype the Wii generated, seeing as Red Steel was one of the first games announced for it. Great sequel though.

I have heard its a great sequel, I plan on picking it up at some point seeing as Im going to get motion plus with the sport resort game for my daughter over the summer :).
My hype for Skyward Sword is AAAAA ever since seeing that concept art, which incidentally does not look like the real game at all. I have already completely set myself up for disappointment. =PSky-given how crappy TP looks today I'm be glad that they went with the semi- cartoony look. It'll end up aging better than TP in the long run.
