i always thought samurai shodown 2 & 3 were often overlooked gems. though on that list i loved them all :p but probably put the most time into killer instinct 1 & gold.

I wouldn't have considered SSB a 2-D fighter, but if we are for the sake of the topic then I strongly believe that series ranks among the best. Of course, the street fighter series is at the top as well(most notably with 3rd strike and 4 imo). I'd also like to nominate Tatsunoko VS Capcom.. though i admit it's still too early to tell, these kinds of things take time. With age they either rise to the top, or get forgotten.

The greatest one ever made to date is MvsC2 other then that I would have to say it's a tie between SF and KI.

its in canada. i live up the street from one of the machines.

anyway, super turbo is without a doubt the best 2d fighter out there. theres prettier or flashier games but not only do they all owe it to sf2, but sf2 is still a much better game than most of them.

Though SSB and SSBM are up there.(Brawl can go jumpinto river.)

None of these. My favorite will always be Capcom Vs. SNK 2.

Shin Akuma and God Rugal did own. :oops: CvS2 EVO for Xbox/GC was far more imbalanced than its Arcade/PS2/Dreamcast (Japan) counterparts.
