Good man. Stay the hell away from World of Warcraft. It will devour your soul.
Maybe people actually play that much World of Warcaft because it's that good. Ever stop and think about that?
No, probably not. Just because you don't like it and think it's a waste of time does not mean the millions upon millions of people that play it are wrong. It was Game of the Year so to all the haters, what you got to say about that?
And to the guy that said 'skill'. Let me tell you something. It takes skill to be a hockey goalie or sew a quilt. Video games are something you can be good at, but that's does not make it a skill.
Those aren't RPGs. They're more like free roaming sandbox games.MADVLAD123
Ditto,Modern WOW,All time Diablo 2,period.

Diablo 2 isn't an RPG either. :D

Actually WoW set the standard for MMORPGs. An RPG Lite would be something like Dungeon Runners.
No. Ultima Online and EverQuest set the standard for MMORPGs
WoW is MMORPG for dummies. :D

Nah. WoW is too easy. I can get a max level character in less than 1 month. It is MMORPG for newbies.

I guess if you don't like having fun in a game, EQ and UO are nice.
And those games are no harder to play than WoW. The content it no more difficult. It just takes a hell of a lot more time and grinding to get somewhere.
UO was great fun!
Corp Por! Vas Flam! Another player head for my house. :D
EQ was great fun too. Plane of Hate runs = uber!

That's at least 16 * 24 = 384 hours.
384 hours. And that's non-stop. So, you think you can do it?
WTH. Why would anyone catch so many fish?
And, for the thread, Planescape: torment.

I can see how it = discipline, except that it shows a considerable amount of discipline in an entirely inane direction.
ok then you dont have to be good at videogames to play WoW.Thats why so many noobs play it bcuz they get pwned at evry other online game taht you have to be good at,Maybe people actually play that much World of Warcaft because it's that good. Ever stop and think about that?

No, actually its called an MMORPG... and unless we are talking about ALL RPGs (ie dice and paper, which would be AD&D) I would have to go with EverQuest. After all, it did suck 3 years of my life away.

Lineage 2 is better and harder to attain high level.
How do you define modern (I.E. what time frame we talking about?).
I'd say FF7 for one. If not, Knights of the Old Republic is a pretty good choice.

Erm, ever wondered why its played so much? Its gameplay is excellent ... all JRPGs are skilless piles of monster grinds themselves.

Every frickin MMORPG is a worthless grind where you have to depend on random idiots for experience before you can start enjoying the end game and "story". Oh, unless you are a slave to the game 10 hours a day for a raid you probably won't even get anything for besides a whole lot of negative experience points...

You see thats what guilds are for, to avoid idiots ... not that you need ANYONE to help you level in World of Warcraft , in FF11 though I agree.

Well, I guess not in WoW, which is something nice I must admit, but I don't want to get sucked into the spiral of time wasting and addiction again, but for EQ and FFXI, it damn near mandatory to have an inept party to level up or get anything accomplished. I dare say the same for Guild Wars... which also sucks.
