Greatness has finally arrived?

Yet another big game from Sony. After Nioh that released literally the same month, Gravity Rush not too long ago, TLG in late 2016 along with R&C and Uncharted 4 in the middle of last year, I think it's safe to say that greatness has arrived on the PS4. Then count the fact that SF V is not playable on Xbox One, Persona 5 seems to be a winner in Japan, Nier Automata will not be coming for Xbox One AND the upcoming God of War, it's not a contest any more.

Can we say greatness has finally arrived? Things look awfully bleak in Microsoft land.

No thanks. all these games looks nothing special. same generic action games that released last generation but with prettier graphics.

Yet you praise DOOM to no ends when it is a pretty generic shooter. Lots of fun sure but it's a generic action game still.

Doom is game. sony first party games are movies. thats the difference.

It's not even fun anymore. Most lems have just completely given up and the ones left are just completely mad with butthurt so it's impossible to have a coherent conversation with them. I applaud Sony for the devastation but they could have been easier on the lems to keep SW alive. Maybe Sony should put their first party to make a game for xbone so that it can finally get something good and keep the battle fresh.

Nioh, Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank and Horizon are movies, really?

Can't say any of those games are really in my wheelhouse of fun. MAYBE Horizon if I'm wrong about it.

nioh looks like only interested game. horrizon is same ol uncharted crap. with flavor of far cry primal.

Do you really know what Horizon is? Nioh also shares many traits with Bloodborne.

critics back in days overrated the crap out of microsoft first party games like halo and gears used to got perfect reviews. now not anymore as the the trend is dead. and now these critics are high on sony first party games.

I find it highly ironic you shit on games like Gears of War or Halo then go on to praise generic shooters like Half-Life 2 and Crysis.

I just wonder how good the sneaking mechanics are, if they are good, I'll probably get it, I still don't know if I will get a ps4 pro for it, I'm waiting for the performance analysis of digital foundry. If I'm playing this, I'm not playing it with lag.

Should have stopped after saying that sony is doing great. Attacking Xbox weakens your own position. Just because they have exclusives coming out at different times of the year doesnt mean that either one is better.

Sony had a drought for a good few months last year, while Xbox has some big hitters such as FH3 and Gears 4 at the same time.

They finished the original trilogy and there will be a 5 years gap between 3 and Andromeda once it comes out. How is that milking?

Great list of games but not my wheelhouse. I prefer multiplayer/co-op and Sony hasnt offered much outside of indie releases. Would love to see a return to Socom, Twisted Metal, Motorstorm and etc... If Sony can surprise us with a multiplayer/co-op exclusive soon then greatness can be claimed(although im looking forward to Days Gone).

That's not an opinion, games were getting milked even before you were born. You're just so used to excessive milking that you think that three sequels is not milking lmao.

On the milked thing, this is the most sequel hungry industry. If something performs well it's pretty much guaranteed a sequel and will continue to get them until it stops performing well. Examples to the contrary are rare. Artistic integrity be damned.

The best you can hope for is...

1. It doesn't become an annual deal, and

2. It actually maintains quality and strives to do something fresh within its confines.

But unless you only play new IPs, it doesn't make much sense to bash a franchise for being "milked".

And just because a game is a later entry in a series doesn't mean it can't be amazing. Ninja Gaiden Black, Resident Evil 4, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Super Mario Galaxy 2, etc.

theres no cover system, QTE, cinematic, regen health in Half life. it rely on deep level design.

Halo and gears has always been crap and finally critics realise it now. it take next generation to realise about uncharted too. uncharted 5 and 6 will receive low scores on ps5.

I'm up to 4 whole games on the PS4! Greatness, indeed.

I'm a bigger Nintendo fan than anything else and since most of my family games on Xbox I tend to lean to MS for multiplats (sports, shooters and most multiplayer games). But I wouldn't be able to truly say that I'm a gamer if I ignore the fact that Sony is currently bringing it.

Thankfully I never traded in my PS4. So the dust hasn't built back up since mid last year.

So many great games to play, I just don't have time for all this lol.

February, March has become the new October, November .

Nioh, Horizon, For Honor, RE7 and even Halo Wars are all games I was looking forward too and all of them except for Horizon cause of course I don't have it yet are great games I'm playing right now. Plus, ME and Zelda coming, this is BS for real gamers cause we don't have the time LOL.

You do realise Sony has more games in 5 months than MS will have in a whole year? It's not even a competition especially when you include MLB, GT Sport and Everybody's Golf compared to just Forza.

Not really Sony had Tripple AAA games pretty much all year. The X1 had an 8 month drought with only QB. LOL

Kinda like when MS had more games in 5 months (at the second half of last year) then Sony had over like 8 months. Historically Sony puts all their eggs in one basket in spring, and MS puts them all in one basket in fall.

PS4 is starting the year strong, greatness is here indeed if you want to look at it that way, however I would say the very same thing about the Xbox One console as well. To me each console offers great things.

That really depends on what kind of games you want to play on PS4 but since launch, I been satisfied what has Sony brought to the table so I cannot say Greatness has finally arrive but it's been okay, for me that is.

It arrived for me a while back, although the PC took a lot of its thunder when I got my laptop. Even then, the PS4 has already a few of my all-time favorite games in Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, and Doom, and the other titles haven't been bad either. I'm pretty damn happy with mine as long as this keeps up.

Still only one game compared to the consistently badass showing the PS4 has had for a while now.
