Check the source link, Greenpeace gave them all 0's because they couldn't find the information or because Nintendo didn't have the info available to the public.
-edit- Here's a link to the report for those that can't find it
Check the source link, Greenpeace gave them all 0's because they couldn't find the information or because Nintendo didn't have the info available to see. Sir_Crocidilereally... interesting. Nintendo said no to greenpeace, news at 11.
That's pretty bad since it pretty much means the Wii puts more chemicals into the soil and the like more than anyone else.Tiefster
No it just means Greanpeace couldn't find any information about Nintendo... because Nintendo makes Videogames not highend electronics.
So i was walking through cardiff city center when this good looking woman pops into the corner of my eye waving like a goon and walks up to me.. starting to chat me up. Given my general overall nerdy appearance and the fact i'm a student, my suspicions were raised.
So basicallyshe worked for greenpeace and as Iam prety politically mindedI thought i'd stay there with an open mind and listen towhat she had to say. after she realised I wasn't about to be turned to her point of view because she was simply very good loking she started firing up totally basis propagada, like...
"We aren't allwed to advertise on tv beause the uk govenmenthave banned us from doing so"
"We have no connection to politics or the green party"
And so and so forth. en of story Greenpeace are a bunch of idiots who blindly fight for the planet, but completly ignore other facts, like for example how the poor chinese workers are supposed to GO GREEN and stop using coal, when they can barely affordanything, let alone a wind farm.

I have no idea, you'd think they would put N/A or something instead. Oh well, like the report says, it leaves Nintendo with infinite room for improvement :P.
This could be a bad thing for Nintendo once everyone that's concerned with the enviroment learns about it. This also could hurt M$ in the same way. It seems that Sony is not only concerned about delivering a quaility product but they want to help the enviroment at the same time.
To me this is very important because I have health problems from sources of dangerous materials.

Because Nintendo isn't a Major Electronics Producer. They just make the Wii and DS... lot's of them, but it's not like they produce tons of diffrent TV's or Zunes or anything else. They probly don't publish info because they didn't know they had to.
So what. Who cares, really. They're not saying anything about the quality of the actual system, or its games. They're just saying the production of the system isn't particularly environment friendly. That is of some concern, but sheep shouldn't take it as a direct attack to the Wii.Exeed_Orbit
Wii owners are causing pollution. j/k
This reminds me of a story a couple of months back (have no idea why, not really similiar at all, and has zero to do with this) A banana company was funding terroists to protect their banana intrests in some country. I found that funny for some reason.
lol. They gave Nintendo a 0 due to no information, apparently. This could be a bad thing for Nintendo once everyone that's concerned with the enviroment learns about it. Read the source, it's not that Nintendo had dangerous chemicals or stuff, it's that it doesn't have the data. It might have already adopted the pratices decribed, but Greanpeace didn't know because Nintendo doesn't have all the info for them.
And so and so forth. en of story Greenpeace are a bunch of idiots who blindly fight for the planet, but completly ignore other facts, like for example how the poor chinese workers are supposed to GO GREEN and stop using coal, when they can barely affordanything, let alone a wind farm.

Greenpeace are the amongst the biggest idiots in the world, They should stick to pushing whales back into the see and leave the enviroment to the people smart enough to come with solutions to our problems. Anyone can identify the problems.
Eh, screw Greenpeace.
I'm failing to understand why they are slamming Nintendo with low scores when for all they know Nintendo could be taking strong steps towards environmental protection in manufacturing their products.
Why are these organizations even going after these businesses? Why don't they actually make them selves useful and go after the fossil fuel industry..sSubZerOo
Because carbon emissions are hardly the only environmental issue out there, mercury and lead getting into the groundwater and oceans is a more immediate problem in fact.
They couldn't find info so they just gave Nintendo zeros across the board. Isn't that great journalism?louislegros
Add to taht their known love of sensationalism and you see why I never bother paying attention to them. Another pure crap report from Greenpeace. If only they actually tried to do good, instead of get attention.
The thing that made me laugh the most was the study doesn't take in consideration the energy consumption of these devices.
The Nintendo Wii uses substantially less compared to the 360 and PS3. Power consumption was one of the main things taken into account for its development. So factor in all the new pollutants Microsoft and Sony are creating by having these huge machines that demand large amounts of electricity compared to the Wii.
