I voted for Fire Emblem: Awakening but I'm thinking I should have voted for Animal Crossing: New Leaf since I still play it every single day and I purchased it on June 20th.

why didn't uncharted 3 or god of war 3 win then if this was cowspot?

TLOU winning would be a kick in the nuts for Gamespot.

Bioshock, GTA5, AC4 and Tomb Raider are doing well. So they should.

They've all been dominating the awards elsewhere and raking it.

Nah, People's Choice has nevercoincided with Gamespot's editorial GotY awards. it would be no kick in the nuts for them at all.

Of course it does. Next year when a PS4 game wins editorial GotY and by some miracle, a 3DS game gets People's choice, watch you flip flop and say editorial awards are what matter anyway.

Can't we just acknowledge both are great games and share the wealth? Be happy that both are actually being acknowledged?

I said the same thing last year, but you can hold on to that pipe dream I guess.

Because he forgot to type this is Anti-Cowspot. It's fine if Sony get's a good game for once but through here it has to be downplayed. There's a few over reacting cows around but there's even more over reacting haters around and there will always be, you some times wonder if they even enjoy the game they say they like, they probably hating on that game too on some other forum.

At least it's still a great game that I wouldn't mind seeing take it.

To be fair, I can't recall a PS3 exclusive GotY contender that didn't deserve to be in the running :P

Nominations wise they're usually spot on but I mean here in the forums, cows have hyped some questionable games as GOTY contenders.

Fire Emblem Awakening gets my vote. Not at all surprised TLOU is winning--at all. That game has more of a cult following than GTAV apparently.

I will say, they hyped Uncharted 3 as GotY, and that game was more trash than Skyward Sword, so that's one instance of them being wrong.

The gamers have spoken and The Last of Us is GOTY. Well deserved.

Fire Emblem Awakening or Super Mario 3D World

It was one hell of an expansion pack. I thought the campaign was a bit too easy though with instant zergling and banelings that split.

TLOU has this easy and just shows how far off the author of the gamespot goty really is.

Maybe all the people that took part in GS's GOTY discussion thought that TLOU was a great, but flawed game.

I voted GTA because it's the game I had the most fun with. TLOU and Bioshock Infinite are really memorable experiences and fantastic games, but messing around in a great big open world and having, and continuing to have, a great time with friends was way better to me.

which says the same thing ,that they are far off from the norm. Out of 98 reviews, gamespot is one of 8 that reviewed TLOU at 80 and lower ...LOL

One of the LOWEST scoring GOTY nominees if that, and the most controversial here this year ends up being the peoples choice is a wake up call to Gamespot and a kick in the nuts for them.

GTA5, AC4, Tomb Raider, Bioshock and TLOU are the top games of this year.

After nearly beating GTA5 my Goty is:

TloU or BI. Easily one of those 2. Need to play Zelda however.

Exactly. I don't know why they even run polls on here. Cows keep asking where did the Sheep, Hermits and Lems go? Most of them left because they don't want to debate with childish kiddie fanboys who hog up the forums with nothing but negative threads.
