yeah i thought the lot of the people were gonna begin waiting till reviews came out. only cause everything gets good previews
I can think of many games that got positive previews and flopped. I hope Fable 2 will rock though. NielsNLSPORE!!!

That one's at the top of my list..
I was not a fan of Fable 1 (which GS rated very kindly IMO) and I can't see this one doing much better. I predict 8.0, maybe an 8.5 if the reviewer is feeling generous. I think Lems are in for some more disappointments if they reckon this is AAA.Hour of Victory. ;)do you wanna know what others game got a positive preview from gamespot?

[QUOTE="-General_Ram-"]Like Gears 2, Fable 2 seems to do nothing but improve upon the predessor. im very excited.
Franko_3
what improvement you see in geow2 exactly?
the problems are gone from gears 1. They added new modes and change the game play with its proximity mines and destructible cover.[QUOTE="-General_Ram-"]Like Gears 2, Fable 2 seems to do nothing but improve upon the predessor. im very excited.

what improvement you see in geow2 exactly?
5vs5, Horde, no active sniper downs, chainsaw duels, no "god-mode" while chainsawing, more enemies, new weapons, weapon tweaks, new enemies, bigger scale, online party system, free roaming spectator camera, more variety in executions, more multiplayer modes.
Enough?

Never played the first one, but I really think it's the type of game I'd enjoy. In the end that'sall that matters and not some preview or review of a person I neither know nor care about. Chances are his taste is quite different from mine. A game like Fable will definately have good production values. That combined with a genre you like is pretty much a winning fomula.
That having said, I also doubt it'll score AAA. The first wasn't and it hardly ever happens that sequel rises a lot in score (as far as i can remember. I'm sure some games will have managed it)

Fable was a bit of a button masher and honestly it was sort of fun for a while, I just found it repetitive and shallow, not what I was expecting in an "RPG" at all. Not really knowing the type of game I was buying with the first one was my big error. I'll be getting this one from gamefly and ill still play it through, just not worth a purchase for me.Fable was a bit of a button masher and honestly it was sort of fun for a while, I just found it repetitive and shallow, not what I was expecting in an "RPG" at all. Hmm.. sounds like a bit of let down. I only remeber the 'truly interactive world' where 'the choices you make really matter' claims, which led me to believing it's an RPG with a highly non-linear story. Maybe I ought to try Fable first, I think you can get it on XBL cheap.

Fable was a fantastic experience, every city and place was totally unique.

Mass Effect shallow? Did you play it? It's the game I'm currently playing and there's more texts with background in it than in pretty much every game I ever played. Of course if you don't take the time to immerse yourself and play it like a shooter like you probably did I can see where you're coming from. To me ME is one of the best RPG's I played over the last years (although I use the term RPG loosely here, more like an action RPG).

Haha, Fable was the greatest letdown known to man to some people. "The greatest RPG of all time." and all that. Hell, it barely was an RPG. Still a good game though. Now that people know what Fable really is about I doubt it'll disappoint anyone. Fable II is looking really solid and enjoyable.

Fable was far from fantastic. "Pretty good" describes it accurately in my mind.

Mass Effect was quite shallow. Not enough of the story was there to fully accept everything. The barren planets was just a lazy idea, the characters were very forgettable and the sidequests were totally worthless and boring. Overall I liked the game, but it was very much shallow technically and as an rpg. Not much going on for it. I mean, Fable is my favorite game, I just finished beating it all over again about a few weeks ago. The music, the dialogue, everything about it is so memmorable and unique.

Every character in the game had a large amount of back story to them. Ashely, Kaiden, Wrex ect. Unforgettable characters? i loved them, and the plethora of info given to you through the index. The entire universe was pretty fleshed out.
