Great Score For Banjo.
=)
AgentA-Mi6
Yup, I played alittle bit of it and am loving it. Not Sure about Last Remmant, seems like a nice game, but just have technical flaws.
Suprised at Banjo. They must have seen something really great about it, that most other critics didn't. I hope it isn't for other reasons though. Heh, guess it didn't flop though, so many people are going to be disapointed for being wrong. I must read this.
Shame about Last Remmenant, I was hoping for something really worth while, but I guess I wasn't expecting much, just a strained hope. Not a good generation for JRPGs. Looks like it's ToV for mid 2009 then (Thanks a bunch, obviously Europe dosn't matter, despite being the third largest market.).
what was the hype for Banjo? I thought it was AAAimelitenow
Nope it was hyped AA, Afew lems hyped it AAA, but most peopel hyped it AA.
EDIT: also the Last Remmant wasn't really hyped. It wasn't exclusive so didn't get that much hype.
what was the hype for Banjo? I thought it was AAAimelitenow
I think it was AA, and later people expected A. Which is why it's suprising. To many people hated the idea for it to expect a generally accepted succes.
[QUOTE="imelitenow"]what was the hype for Banjo? I thought it was AAAGrady420No it was AA, it did not flop on GS.
ok
Banjo is awesome, Remnant sucks, no Valkyria Chronicles?WatchmenWatchUsDUDE Valkryria chronicles came out 2 weeks ago and there's still no review =/
Don't care for Banjo. Hasn't been good since the 64 days
Got a chance to mess around with the Last Remnant. Its decent and has a nice battle system. The only thing plaguing it would be the technical issues IMO, but you don't really notice them after playing for a long time. Im probably gonna buy the 360 version if its cheaper then the PS3 version. It depends.
Banjo is not even an A game. Overhyped.Espada12
microsoft game studios, I believe thats the reason.....
Ah yes! great score for banjo haters owned.C-Lee
Don't you mean, "Banjowned"? Sorry, terrible I know, but you will see that alot in topics.
First it was PDZ and now this? i cant believe they gave Banjo 8.5, the game is mediocre at best. Why is GS giving high scores to games from ms? i dont get it...ZoomZoom2490
Teh Gamespot is teh bias
It is only .7 more than the Critic avg. Fun Fact, MGS 4 got a 10 here and it has a critic avg of 9.2. That is .8 more than critic avg.
The Last Remnant review makes me sad. Great score for Banjo though. cloudff7tm
If you like JRPGs, then it probably won't be bad. Critics have lost intrest in JRPGs, just look at Lost Oddssesy, a decent - good game that got terrible scores, because of the comparisons to Final Fantasy and other JRPGs. Gamespot actually gave it a reasonable score, but save for IGN, no one really gave it over an 8, and I think it deserves atleast that.
[QUOTE="Espada12"]Banjo is not even an A game. Overhyped.C-LeeYou say its not an A game, when it scored an 8.5? lol? have you even played the game? Not worthy to be an A I should say. btw 8.5 is probably the highest score it has received  let's go with all the other A and lower reviews ok?

wat I don't care. Maybe I should have rephrased that to the game in generaI of what it was about. I lost interest after they mentioned the game was based around videos, then I saw gameplay and then I didn't care. It could have scored a 10 and I wounldn't have cared anymore. I guess banjo fans would love it though......I guess The Last Remant is actaully a good game. Just technical issues IMO. Any RPG fan should check it out definitly[QUOTE="C-Lee"][QUOTE="Espada12"]Banjo is not even an A game. Fail... giantbomb- 5/5, 1up- 91%, xbox magazine uk- 90%, 90%-NZGamer, 90%- Videogamer, and a bunch more 8.5s....

Honestly I really like Lost Odyssey but it has a real old school feel to it. TLR on the other hand i can say would have probably got AA if there werent that many issues with the pop ups and framerate.

Well Giant Bomb gave it a 5/5 that is over a 8.5. But if we are going to make it an A. Does that mean we can make MGS 4 an AAA?
- Control for land vehicles is touchy - Put wheels on the coreners of the cubes you used instead of under them. Spoilers and Propellers help as well.
- Frame-rate drops are infrequent but still punishing.-Only time I've seen a punishing framerate drop was in Humba's Shop; whethr it be online or offline. Framerate drop in the water really isn't as qualified as "Punishing" as Humba's is, as quantified in the review "Additionally, when you're buying parts for your vehicles, the game sometimes slows down considerably, turning a simple trip to the store turn into a prolonged ordeal."
- "The result is a unique twist on a ****c formula that doesn't feel like anything else out there. With a powerful yet wonderfully simple creation tool providing the backbone of your quest, the various tasks spread out across six worlds are novel, engaging, and, most importantly, fun." *thumbs up*
- "Creating can be so fun that it's possible to lose sight of the missions and just focus on building off-the-wall vehicles that have no relevance in the game world, but are really funny to see in action." *thumbs up*
- "For instance, in one mission, you will have to defend a golden egg from a squadron of angry bombers. You could build a large tank and shoot missiles at would-be attackers as they attempt to destroy this opulent object. Or you could build a helicopter with a tray and shuttle the golden egg out of harm's way. Most missions are structured in this manner, letting you creatively attack any problem presented to you." *thumbs up*
- "Thankfully, the music suffers no such issues, and players will find it delightfully immersive. Though some of the tracks have been pulled from previous games in the franchise, they have been remixed here, providing a strong soundtrack for all of the wacky vehicular fun. Each world has its own unique score, but what's interesting is how the music subtly changes while you explore. Instruments will drop in and out depending on the situation, molding the tune to your immediate surroundings." Good job GS! You are the only website I've seen mention this. :)
- "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is a fantastically fun update to an aging formula. The easy vehicle-creation tool makes even the craziest ideas possible, and the missions let you exert your creative muscle in spectacular fashion. Aside from a few control quirks and frame-rate issues, N&B is a joy from beginning to end, providing a constant string of new parts and objectives to keep you entertained for a long time. If this is the direction that the Banjo franchise is going in, let's hope it's not another eight years between games." Well said.
Very well done and fair review.ZeldaMaster32
I liked the review as well, I'm suprised at how well written it was. Better than the usual rubish. Though the comment I put in italics was rather silly. He goes from talking about frame rate issues and then talks about the music suffering from no such problems. Of course it dosn't, music isn't measuerd in frams per second .Â
Wow, critics are really split on Banjo. Some seem to really dislike it while others love it.
It is interesting to see so much positivity in this thread, for banjo that is. It had seemed to me that the general consensus around system wars was that nuts and bolts was a mediocre game.
Anyways; last remnant didn't look like anything special to me from it's previous coverage. Not terribly surprised that it's turned out to have some issues.

Giant bomb is former GS so they are one in the same to me, 78% on gameranking says enough though. All those damn overhypers making this game higher than the score it deserves.
