GT 1-3 outsold the whole Halo series combined

First of all lolz i think this artical came after that other artical which was posted earlier on SW, looks like the 2 writers are fighting against each other with Sales numbers etc, found it to be intresting

I love sales discussion but comparing 1 megablockbuster against over games that sell millions is stupid. There is nothing worthwhile in that.

actually wii sports wasn't packed in in jpn, and not all halos were packed in and not all GTs were.

As well haven't all GTA's outsold all those games combined?

Also it hasn't got the numbers that right. The whole Gran Turismo series is closer to 56 million than 50, and Im sure the halo series is about 35 million rather than 30. So I don't think wii sports has quite outsold them put together! :P

GT has to have been out longer than the Halo series...and shooters dont really appeal to everyone, though racers are easier to get into, especially with GT's maddd hot cars...so, no suprise here...

'never'? thats not true... you can find many examples of where it shows that it does affect sales

for example, look at the sales of mario kart... 9mil on N64 (33mil), 7mil on GC (22mil), and 22mil on Wii (around 60mil)

I know Gran Turismo is popular, but that's shocking to me. I consider GT to be a hardcore game, it isn't easy to drive, and you kind of need to know about cars in order to make the best of it. It's why I've always kind of steered away from it. On the other side, Halo is about as casual a game as I can imagine.

It's really not that hard of a game unless you overthink it (which it seems you're doing).

I played through GT1 and 2 when I was around 10-11 years old. Granted I stopped then as I moved on to the Xbox/Gamecube, and didn't really care much for the PS2.
