is GT 5 not having damage a big deal? i mean it's just a game, and i've seen alot of you ppl saying gameplay is more important than graphic. yet when sony brings gameplay over graphics everyone is saying a flop. GT 5 has no damage it's true and sad but it's not a flop lol. i mean not everyone game has to have everything implemented or else we be playing the same game over and over agian. also it's not because PS3 is weak if u want to crash your car well play motorstorm u can destroy your car as much as possible or else u can play killzone 2 with the a destructible enrivonment, i mean there is alot of games coming out with damages, and if one game doens't have it everyone calls sony a flop.

ask your self u want a game with few cars? and damages and not alot of gameplay?

or

u want a game with TONS OF cars? and huge amount of gameplay and custimization? but with no damage

your choice but don't play sony if one developer decides not to put something in their game.

I think it is,after all isn't "The real driving simulator"?.IMO I believe Sony is releasing the game without the Car damage so they can release at the end of this year. The DLC will probably fix this,I hope.

I could care less about damage in a driving sim. I want to drive, not crash.

I'll play Burnout when I want to crash.

Also, I'd rather have modeled interiors.

No damage is not needed if GT is considered a arcade racer now. If it is still considered a driving simulater then ...UM YA

of course it should have damage! damage in a racing game is not about graphics, its about minimizing the car's performance based on how BADLY you drive. GT is probably the only game that rewards you with getting first position by running max speed into your opponents rear at a hairpin and get their position.

Of course damage is not the most important detail of a racing sim, but on a racing sim, when you crash the car and it has no damage is the same thing as shoot someone on a tactical shooter and don't see the blood. You know, that feeling that something is missing.

So, you play a sim....yet you don't want it to be realistic? Makes sense. :|

Yes. This is a generation further now and last generation should have had damage already. So, if you still can't manage to do it a whole generation further, something is just wrong.

It's like if GT5 wouldn't have online play. It's just something that should be standard nowadays. For good reasons.

Christ, since 1998 Gran Turismo hasn't implemented some sort of damage penalty to curb reckless driving.

It's not really a sim if crashing does nothing to your car...

if it was an arcade racer it might be acceptable

This is 2007, GT, GT2 and GT3 got away with it, GT4 just squeezed by by a hair, there is no excuse that is good enough that can explain the lack of damage in GT5. "Time constraints?" Please, take 20 out of those 180 days per car and put the damage in. Most arcade racers these days have damage and GT is a simulator.

I agree 100%

it should be standard and there is no reason it shouldn't be in the game with the hardware now a days

I just do not see how a driving game can be called a driving simulater this gen and not have damage as a option. It is more a arcade racer then.

polyphony is putting so much commitment into making beautiful cars with awsome graphics, and realistic DRIVING. sometimes, there just isn't enough time or money to have EVERYTHING fully fleshed out in a simulator. They have an incredible attention to detail, so that should be appreciated. The DLC should make everyone happy, because it will be fully realized as damage patch, not a rushed afterthought. They just don't want to rush the game, why are people mad at a developer that iscommited to quality?

Because they are not. They were so 'comitted' to bringing GT4 online that they delayed that game more then once for that reason. And then they went out and told people; well, yeah, it's not going online. Just because they couldn't get it done.

I think Polyphony is over-estimated. They made mistakes. They promised things and couldn't get them done. I don't call that quality. And now they scrap a standard concept with the idea of bringing it in the game later. Yeah, I'm sure we will ever see that patch, sarcasm intended.
