GT Countdown: Top 10 Disappointments of the Decade

Their choices were actually well thought out which was surprising for Gametrailers.

Although I would add: LFD1, WoW:Burning Crusade, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Killzone 1, Haze, and anything made by Lionhead

10 - State of Emergency (for being hyped too much)
9 - Sonic the Hedgehog (some gratuitous Sonic bashing)
8 - Lair (hyped; unfinished mess)
7 - Doom 3 (all graphics, no substance)
6 - Perfect Dark Zero (mediocre game)
5 - Fable (Molyneux, nuff said)
4 - Devil May Cry 2 (poor sequel)
3 - Metal Gear Solid 2 (hype, plot, Raiden)
2 - Daikatana (hype, hype, hype)
1 - Star Wars: Galaxies (retcons, and destruction of game world)

Aside from MGS2, that list is very agreeable.

Fable wasn't a disappointment. I can see the rest disappointing, however. If BK: N&B, BD, BC, HS, or LM, would've made the list, I would've been mad. :P Liked all of those lots.

Switch Metal Gear Solid 2 with Killzone 1 and I agree 100% with the list, even though some games weren't bad on the list.

That's a fine list, save for MGS2 (It got fantastic reviews, and it had physics and particle elements that we see in games today! :shock: ).

They could have done better than that. I hate to see MGS2 lined up with those rascals.:P

Great other options, like Killzone 1 and WoW:Burning Crusade have already been mentioned.
What about the Decade making Too Human? That's another good choice.

Yea I dont agree with MGS2 or doom 3(only bad thing was the flashlight switching). With fable maybe a little I agree with it since I actually enjoyed it,but I found fable 2 a bigger disapointment.

ScrewAttack top 10s are more for the laugh.

Anyway, i agree with most of the games except Doom 3 and of course MGS2, i mean, c'mon, sure, Doom 3 is dark, but it's also a very enjoyable game, with plenity of scares and stuff, i don't see it as a dissapoint in any way.

And i don't even want to mention how wrong is to have MGS2 on the list.

I'm surprised that B-K N&B wasn't there (Considering it got a 6.8ish rating, and it clearly disapointed GT when compared to B-K & B-T).

I'm shocked to see how people still whines about not being able to play as Snake in MGS2.

should replace mgs2(never play it) with too human. how many times it jump from console to console? how many was finance for that game? how many years it took the game to be release in both sales and reviews?

Wow, I lost alot of respect for gametrailers. MGS2 is one of the greatest games ever made (alot of MGS fans even list it as their favorite of the popular franchise) and the fact that they would even consider putting it on a list like that, let alone follow through with it, is just rediculous. Hell, they might as well of put Zelda:OOT, Metroid Prime, Halo:CE, and Resident Evil 4 on the list as well, if that's their definition of dissapointment.

doom3 such a disappointment i bought the game in 2004 actually i reserved the game and i still play the game even today.

it could of been better, so could many other games that are praised more and i play less.

i knew doom3 was gonna be on that list **** them, i grew up playing the original doom back in 93 when that **** was new.

u want disappointment? QUAKE 4 now that sucked ravensoft ruined the franchise.

quake 4 deserves to be on that list more than doom3.

quake 4 is probley my biggest disappointment ever.

this game totally sucked i grew up playing quake 1/2/3/ when it was new also.

the multiplayer maps were just so much crappier than the previous games and the guns have no recoil like the previous quake games especially the rocket launcher.

u couldnt rocket jump as high as previous games.

Interesting list but Daikatana sounds like more of a number 1 disappointment then a number 2.

MGS2 is not my favorite MGS, but surely they could have found a better game to take its position. Or at the very least, better reasons for why it was a disappointment

Metal Gear solid 2 was terrible, the plot was terrible, the actor playing Raiden was sub-par, the dialog was long, drawn out and pointless. It was the metal gear game that put me off metal gear games for good

P.S. I think there's something wrong with me, because I enjoyed Perfect Dark Zero's online more then I did Halo 3's

replace MGS2 with To Human and that list is 100% correct

I say replace Fable with KZ and its a good list, seriously any game thats hyped to be a Halo killer and then turns out to be far far from it deserves to be on that list :D

Not a bad list, apart from MGS2 being there. The game is the second highest reviewed PS2 game of all time on Metacritic, for Christ's sake. :shock:
