I'm not surprised. What are PS racing fans other options? Driveclub, LOL? GT is a globally cemented brand. None of this means it is better than Forza 7. Critical reception, which in truth is still just human opinion but it gets thrown around by some cows like its God's law, has favored Forza for over a decade.

For me it doesn't deserve it, maybe there will be a huge drop off as reviews came in late. I fear though japan and europe will carry it. The lack of content cars and tracks is just sad. If there is dlc it may not be free if sales take off.

This year? Project Cars 2 and F1 2017 so it's not like PS4 owners haven't had racing games to play. On more arcade racing Wipeout and Dirt 4 too. All scored close to Forza 7 BTW.

Ouch on Shadow of War! All that negativity with the loot box really hurt the game's reputation and for all it's intended purpose, I'm glad it's at #5 and gives WB a wake up call.

Being a saint on any aspect of your life, including your consumer choices is almost impossible. You would have to be Saint Francis or equivalent. The computer on which you're reading this was partly done using child labor and close to slavery conditions for many of the manufacturing workers for example :P. I'm all for people making choices following what they aspire but there has to be a balance between standing for what you think it's right and actually living. GT is still a good game even if people complain about lack of content. I'll be more worried about people supporting a shitty or broken game

I was on a break from SW and playing games for a month or so when Forza 7 dropped. But I have gone and read some posts from then.

Your question was about what racing games PS4 owners have to play. I answered that question. No need to spin now just because you don't like the answer.

Maybe your butthurt is making you blind and you're just reading what you expect to read to strengthen your expectations and have a excuse to remain butthurt but I have written several times that it is pretty clear that Forza 7 is the better game. Not only because of scores but also because all reviews make it clear that it is a much more complete experience than GT Sport. That doesn't mean the game can't be criticized to avoid hurting the feelings of some oversensitive lems here. It also doesn't change the fact that, speaking of sim aspects alone, GT Sport seem to have the edge as sim-specific websites have pointed out one way or another. This is another thing lemmings are apparently incapable of mentally process, that games can have different strengths and focus.

But by all means keep imagining your conflict so that you can convince yourself that your butthurt is well justified :)

Well deserved, the game is amazing and I barely touched the online portion, some people and reviewers are complaining because it's different from the traditional GT games, but for us who followed the game and knew what we were buying i dare to say this the GT game which i will keep on playing for years, SR and DR system makes the game different and addicting. Also the game has tons of SP mode but it's just presented to you in a different way than old GT games. GT average review scores are not because it's bad or lacking, but because of its legacy luggage where people expected this to be GT7, but the developer said this hundred of times this is an online focused GT, it's basically Overwatch of racing games.

I think the fact Forza is the only MS franchise with a critical edge over Sony's makes Lems more overly protective of it. It's kinda funny to see them grasp at their only "salvation" between MS franchises and thus their only "ammo" against playstation fans XD

Not consistently. Gran Turismo 6 got 81 on Metacritic while Forza 5 got 79. What has been consistent, however, is Gran Turismo being the gamers choice for two decades. Stay salty.

Seriously, what Sony pulled with GTS is levels of bullshit akin to EA or Activision. They gutted their racing franchise, worst, apparently due to pre$$ure from FIA. Not even MS did something like that and they really messed up with Forza 7.

Now, I do hope they make racing online work because I love racing games but absolutely hate the online. And I hope the competition copies it,improves it and keeps releasing full games. And I do hope they revert their own policy because Sony is supposed to be "for the gamers" not for FIA or whatever association decides to mine our pockets.

Again the game has a lot of sp contents, I've been just playing SP contents for the past week and I'm not done yet, it's just the way they presented the single player contents is different, now it's less RPG more do whatever you want, level up and unlock new things, and please get your facts right the game has 17 tracks with 40 variations smaller than older games yes, but that's still a big selection

I think the problem is they didn't show the SP at all.

All the marketing was about the online. GT fans wanted the licences back cause they were a fun challenge.

I still remember in GT3 the Corvertte circle challenge. I had to learn drift before i knew that it existed just to get a bronze.

@Kashiwaba: I can play for weeks without going RPG in racing games (I did it in Forza 4 and enjoyed it and I understand there's value in that), but like I've said not a proper offline mode and without any real justification. About tracks you're right, it's 17. My mistake. Still a small number.6 is the number of real world circuits.

Good for you if you are enjoying it. I will not support it until it has more content, the online proves itself and the price drops. Still lots of things to play thankfully.
