GT5 -Where ultra-realistic car models meets bland scenery, weak computer AI and dull gameplay.

Now before going further, yes I own a PS3, yes I own a 360 and no, I don't care which one is better. I do care though that the 'premium' driving game on the PS3, the one that all of the big bucks is being spent on, looks like yet another rehash of what was essentially a dying series.

Yes it will sell well, yes transformers also sold well. I don't care how many copies of GT are sold I only care about how the damn thing plays and sales are clearly no indication of that.

Everyone will say 'give it time' and 'it's not finished' but with GT Prologue around the corner (basically exactly what we will get in the full GT game but less content) the problems i've seen will remain. It will be great to watch TV shows from the menu, amazing to look at the almost photo-realistic garages they seem to have spent so much time on and awesome to marvel at the overall presentation.....but where is the improved AI? I thought this was re-written from the ground up because of the extra cars? Then why, in every video, do they all stick to exactly the same line like glue?

Where is the new and exciting stuff? GT4 already felt like more of a job than a game and GT5 looks to follow right in its footsteps. With a slew of great racers already available on the other consoles & PC why are we getting hyped about GT5?

Lets just pray you don't handle like GT-HD or it's R.I.P.

i dont' think it'll sell that well given the small ps3 userbase...

even with "100 million ps2" GT4 only sold 8 million and took years to do it....

I enjoyed GT4 ... and if i did ... i'll probabaly enjoy GT5.

The onyl gripe i ever had with the series was that there was no online play ... so i'm glad their finally doing something about it.

Have you played it? No, oh well this thread fails then. Because you are speaking out your arse seeing you haven't even played it yet.

Um, we haven't even seen the other environments besidesthat one track (Suduka was it? :P ). PGR 4 has the michelin which is just as bland (or more from what i've seen of it) as that one track we've all seen a million times in GT 5 prologue.

They've upgraded the A.I. which they've stated themselves and is evident in some of the videos.

They've also stated that they are working on damage modeling (at least for the real GT 5).

Don't you read the news? Or is the internets not proof enough for you?

Show me the video evidence of AI improvement. All I have seen is a guy trying to get past a few cars and them sticking to the line like glue. Seriously, i'm telling you that if it stays as is then this is going to be rated lower here than GT4.

I really don't want another 4000 races of me feeling like i'm the only actual driver on the track. Online might save them but they have an awfully long way to go to beat Forza in that department.

Now if they could mix the gameplay and customisation of Forza with the graphics and amount of content of GT then we'd have the 'ultimate driving simulator'. Until then I guess we'll just have to settle for a rehash.

http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5158.html Look at those. Making judgements now of what it will be like when the real GT 5 is released would be foolish. This isn't GT 5.

So what is GT Prologue? Looked very much like that is what we will be getting for GT5 minus a huge chunk of content. Seeing as how gameplay didn't really change much from previous prologue games to their final versions I don't see how this will be any different.

I mean I know he talked about AI being different but they didn't actually show us any examples now did they......

In fact, the only bits we saw of interaction with other cars showed that nothing seemed to have changed. Oh he talked a good game about improving graphics in the wing mirrors and smoothing out the framerate but as far as I could tell, bar tweaks, the gameplay is done.

Not good IMO but we'll see with prologue I guess.

I totally agree with you, it looks like it's going to be the same game in higher resolution with better car models (and yes, they look amaaaazing!). But still using crosses as trees is a big NO NO! shame on you Polyphony, it's 2007 for christ's sake.

I waved goodbye to that franchise after I played GT3 on the PS2. And I didn't even buy that. It came with the system free. GT = SNORE!

"So what is Gt 5 Prologue?" = Its basically a BIG demo/sampler of some things to expect in the real game.

GT 5 will have much more content and have it's gameplay machanics upgrade along with its graphics.

"didn't really change much from previous prologue games to their final versions I don't see how this will be any different." = Its a simulator. What are you expecting to change so much? Its not going to turn into Burnout.

"I mean I know he talked about AI being different but they didn't actually show us any examples now did they......" = Gonna have to hear it from people who've actually played it, but none the less he said they are improving it.

And for the last two sentences - I guess you didn't hear him say they will be adding other gameplay machanics to the game.

You're judging GT 5 when we haven't even seen it yet. Tell it to GT 5 Prologue.

I stopped reading after that, and everybody else should have done the same. You're talking like you've actually played GT5.
