And as for damage sim, let me tell you i race nasa and scca and when i have hit a gravel pit at 80 mph i don't slow down, i am done. All forza does is if you hit something it adds a dent. When in real racing you hit something in the magnitude as in forza you are done and most likely dead. It's a sim people the point is not to hit anything and don't use the excuse of bouncing off cars because the people that do should be playing need for speed.
That said i will be buying forza 2 to keep me busy till GT5 comes out. i just keeps it real.
just so you know that whole sim part means simulation. So as crazy as it seems when a car does hit another car or a wall there is damage. Cars do not just bounce off walls and keep on driving with not even a scratch on paint.
I know that there is damage. I have crashed plenty of times on the track.. but the damage portryed in games is no where close to real. Like i said in forza you go into a stop barrier and you slow down, once n my rx7 i hit a gravel pit at 80mph and broke my rack and pinion. while seeing damage is nice to a extent, the value to the game play can never really amount to anything close to being a sim.

I'm not getting into the discussion which game has better graphics. I can only ask you this; you think GTHD is better then Forza 2 because of graphics? I strongly believe no matter how photorealistic GT5 may become, Forza 2 will most likely have better gameplay.
I doubt GT5 will be better in both the online department as the single player. In Forza 2, you are only required to play the mode you want. If offline is not you're thing, you can still unlock every little last bit of content online and vice versa. I highly doubt GT5 will be better then Forza 2, looking at previous GT games. They used to be all alone dominating the consoles. A tough rival came along and owned it from the start (Forza Motorsport). So I doubt this time around will be anything different.

As much of a fan of GT as I am they lost me when they were unable to take the racing online. What happened to the promised online upgrade disc that was touted so highly when GT4 came out? What happened to the PSP GT moble that was going to be online?
GT5 has every chance to regain its foothold as best racing game but seriously, its what? 12 months away? 15? 18? I know I will give them another shot at my money but get real already Forza is out in 3 weeks.

since you do SCCA (more than solo2, from the sound of it?) you probably are aware of bumper cars- i mean spec miata. :D you can still race fine after most non-catastrophic collisions. which area of the country are you in as far as tracks go?

So your arguements for GTHD being better is that it doesn't have damage and your arguements for GT5 being better is that you assume it'll run at a higher resolution with 7.1 sound? Also the ability to bounce off of opponents isn't a bad thing cause you shouldn't be doing it.

First of all Forza is a simulation game. GTHD doesnt even qualify as simulation

Wow! Maybe you should have read his whole post before you tried sounding smart (you failed in that respect by the way.) He didn't say there wouldn't be damage, he said if you're cruising in a stock car for example, and you hit some gravel or another car, there's usually a lot more damage than just a dent or two like in Forza.

So you think a port of GT4 in 1080p is better than a completely new, from the ground up game. You are entitled to your own opinion I guess. But so am I. and my opinion is that your opinion sucks.
In all truth the cars in forza (atleast the first one) feel like karts. Don't get me wrong I love the cars in it. I also love the ability to race people online, but i can't get over the handling. That just kills me. And like i said i have pre-ordered forza 2 but in all truth i am waiting for gt5. I'm sure forza will also score great but i have a hi-def monitor with 7.1 audio system. I want my game running 60fps with 7.1 audio. and if will take 15 months to make it happen with all the cars i love, then so be it. in the mean time forza will tide me over.
And the guy that races, the hankooks are pretty good tires but i now use eagle f1's. I sure you have filter and exhaust. what kind of miata is it. you do solo2?
