Im hyping this game to be the most epic game of all time, anotherAAAAE just like MGS4.

Here are some pictures from the early prologue "demo".

Only for the PlayStation 3.

When Gran Turismo 5 releases it will be the definitive racing/driving game.

Expect a release date for this xmas to be revealed at TGS.

i find it funny how the driver's have the helmets and all the gear on, and they're only riding what appears to be normal commercial sports cars.

it's not like they are driving a Lambo, or a Ferrari.

Isn't that an exotic car? I forget what maker uses that emblem.

Porche maybe?

right. i'm thinking more of those super sleek low to the grounder racers. an open top car with a 'soft' design feels a lot more like a casual commercial sports car. it's just a little odd to see a racer in all the gear in such a car. looks great. looks really really good. definite day 1 buy for me. i'm just saying it's funny to see the driver look like that.

I agree that this game looks beautiful, and if it plays like its predecessors, I'll definitely like it.
However, I need a PS3 first. Maybe Forza 3 will be just as good (fingers crossed).

as far as a console driving sim goes, Forza 3's physics and customization will be far superior. :| Forza2 was praised endlessly for it's physics and Turn 10 has improved on their engine even more so. Heck, Forza2's tire physics alone destroyed anything the GT series has done so far.

Forza 3 looks far better IN GAME then ANY IN GAME footage that's been shown of GT5. :| Much better in game because Turn10 knows that good looking cars alone don't make a game look photo realistic. You can have good looking cars all you want, but if the environments don't match that quality, the game will only look unbalanced and silly. Hence, GT5.

Yet another GT thread where only non-gameplay pics are shown. Heck nothing was even talked about gameplay wise and this is supposed to be a hype thread.

Yeah it should look good, it's been in development for like 5 years...just a shame it's gonna be exactly the same as every other sim racer that's already come out this gen, only with a crap load of cars stuffed in.

not from my experience......GT's environments are flat and littered with low res textures to boot. The cars look incredible, but they look no where near as impressive as those screen shots posted. That's the simple truth, not fanboyism in the slightest. :|

did you ever even play Forza2? The physics are VERY impressive and being able to view the telemetry in real time just shows how much is going on every single second. Turn10's physics engine puts to shame PD's. Hopefully PD will deliver an engine that is even half the level of realism they've put in to the detail for the cars.

Nice Bullshot

What you actually play.

What you see!

What you get!

Now, I know you don't think that those screen shots of in-game don't look like those bullshots do you?

neither of them have really bad backgrounds. even Forza 2 looks great at certain points. to say Forza 2 or 3 or GT5 has a Cruise N' World 2D Flatness tree line is pure 100% Grade A Fanboyism.

Look at that Ferrari. Goddam. "did you ever even play Forza2? The physics are VERY impressive and being able to view the telemetry in real time just shows how much is going on every single second." I must be the only person on SW... Hell, gaming forums in general that doesn't give a flying **** about the minute difference between how X car tilts when X car corners. All I know is, when I played GT Prologue, I was enjoying myself. When I was playing Forza 2, I wasn't.

at least there are ramifications for attempting stupid moves. :| Can't really say the same for the GT series where you can cut across the grass, plow into the side of another car and not have any engine or suspension defects one bit. That sure sounds like a challenge to me.

If I do that in Forza 2, I'm lucky if I can even move 10' in a minute. In GT, you can finish the race like nothing happend.

Thing is if you're gonna play a sim game, which GT5 is, you may as well play one thats realistic. I don't see how you can enjoy GT5 more than Forza, they are essentially the same game. I've played about 5 different races on each at friends houses and I had about a million times more fun playing the GRID demo because it's intense and exciting like racing should be IMO.

lets see turn 10 put 16 cars on track and keep those visuals... they cant

Having damage that may not be perfect is far better then having nothing. Like the saying goes better to try and fail then not try at all. Bumper cars FTL

When I was playing Forza 2, I wasn't.

In that case why does anyone buy either Forza or GT when there are ****tonnes of realistic sims that take dumps on both these games in terms of realism, primarily on the PC no less. Also I play all types of racers and.... Wait why should I explain this to you, you've played both games for like 15 minutes.

[QUOTE="Nedemis"][QUOTE="aaronmullan"] Same with other racers that have a photo mode. Forza, anyone?nyctota

Hence, GT5.

too bad 8 cars doesnt need much power

lets see turn 10 put 16 cars on track and keep those visuals... they cant

Let's see PD actually program in some intelligent A.I., build a physics engine that actually simulates tire reaction to the road, road heat and physical wear and put some time into creating surroundings that don't look last gen. I'm sure we'd be seeing that number of cars drop drastically once they actually build a game from the ground up to be a true next gen racer and not another amazing car modeler with racing on the side.

[QUOTE="Nedemis"][QUOTE="Chutebox"] Lol, like Forza 2 is soooo realistic with its damage right?Chutebox
at least there are ramifications for attempting stupid moves. :| Can't really say the same for the GT series where you can cut across the grass, plow into the side of another car and not have any engine or suspension defects one bit. That sure sounds like a challenge to me.

Of course it's silly, but Forza 2's "damage" system isn't something to be bragging about either.

lol, you'd have to be an idiot to try do that in GT anyway, even though it might be like bumper cars at times, just coz u can doesnt mean your car is going to plough right through the other car, usually when you bump into them like that you suffer major speed loss, you make it sound like the cars are tanks

Having damage that may not be perfect is far better then having nothing. Like the saying goes better to try and fail then not try at all. Bumper cars FTL

It's far, far, far from perfect. Like I said, it's not enough to be calling any other games out on.

Nice Bullshot

What you actually play.

What you see!

What you get!

Now, I know you don't think that those screen shots of in-game don't look like those bullshots do you?

Shattered007

The graphics of the vehicle in the first picture are near identical. It's a completely different angle with a different light source. Also the back of the car is fugly, which makes the screen shot a lot worst then it actually is. For the second batch of pics the "ingame" pic you posted was of another car and it still looked very similar to the first one. The only major notable difference is the lack of anti aliasing in the gameplay pics and the backgrounds in the replay shots are blurred making the backgrounds look better.

I don't recall "bragging" about it. You're the one who brought it up. :|

In every single **** GT thread there are Forza fanboys bragging about it. You know, how you brought up the usual bumper cars crap?

car models seem to look better than forza but i doubt the physics system will be better. But overall i think gt5 will be the better game.

the challenge comes from NOT letting a little slip up effect your entire race. Say you take a corner just a little bit faster then you usually do. You spin out, run off into the sand and hit the wall. In GT, you can simply drive off like nothing happened. No change in your overall top speed. No damage to your steering, suspension, brakes, gearbox or engine. Wow....where's the challenge in GT again? Seems as if you can recover from ANYTHING and continue on even though you just screwed up. Sure sounds like a SIM experience, doesn't it? I'd much rather have something lurking in the back of my mind letting me know that I could possibly screw myself over if I get reckless on the last lap of an endurance race. There's a greater challenge with Forza then you GT fanboys could ever possibly understand. The A.I. is actually smart and will pull the same tactics you use on them. You gently rub them in the corner (even if it's by accident), they'll do the same to you. You cut them off to get a better line, they'll find that opportunity and take it. You see, unlike GT, Forza's A.I. is actually learning your style as you go and it makes each race (he**....each lap) a different experience. Maybe you didn't like Forza simply because it actually posed a challenge to you?

What i love is people saying stop posting bullshots and post gameplay pics when all us GT5p owners know they look the same and those so called bullshots are the same as supposed ingame pics, haters just refuse to believe it despite the fact Forza 3 looks just as good, weird how Forza 3 can look like that ingame BUT GT5/GT5p can't. -- Love that 2nd pic from the TC, the silver car (i forget the name, but it's a drift machine!), i just got that one, it's sweet in the incar view, everything reflects of all the silver panels it makes it look so BLING!, just silly how the wheel covers the speedo though :D.
