In the quest for pure journalistic integrity, I am not a racing game fan, so my knowledge of the genre is limited. With such a huge gap between 4 and 5, and the list of highly reviewed racing games that have come out since then, I would think GT's name value would have declined sharply.

No big surpise. The rate they are going GT5 may never come out. Hasn't it been delayed for over 2 years.

I can say is, they have better have a helluva game up their sleeves. Otherwise, Ill just move on to Forza 3 or possibly 4 for that matter.

I think two things will happen if they keep on delaying the game. One is that the hype will increase because people really want to play the game, or the hype will go away because people don't want to wait anymore.

Terrible. Everytime another topic comes out about GT5 having new features announced I always say "and the delay will also be announced shortly." I usually get flamed, but alas, I am usually right

maybe this is their way of managing expectations

i mean for years now GT5 has been shown in pre-rendered trailers, demos and so-on and hype is through the roof

delay it for 2 years and people's expectations goto **** then release it, it gets a 9/10 but nobody cares anymore because they just want a video game to play while they wait for Forza 4 or GT6 to come out

They will be showing us Forza 4 running on the xbox 720 before this game comes out.

Forza Holographic racing will be out before GT5

This is getting more than ridiculous... :? I'm glad i own a 360 and FM3 too so i can play that when i feel like playing a race sim.

It's truly hard to believe that Sony's biggest of big hitters have yet to launch this far into this gen. but here's hoping they deliver the racing goods - we shall see.

It just seems like they are trying out every option they can do... and most likely finding they cannot improve the game any more lol. It will be the same as all other GT games just with a cockpit view. Hopefully I am wrong and ill get a ps3 if its awesome :P

i'm going to guess that GT5 is being delayed whilst they finish off the damage modelling and more importantly completely rip-off Forza 3s livery editor.
