I think they are starting to :)I thought private lobbies were taken out of Forza 3, because I remember a lot of complaints about that. Why is private lobbies listed as a feature for GT5, private lobbies arent new or special. (hint: they're in Forza)

k, adding. The big difference between these two games is the fact Forza 3 was turned out in 2 years, and ended up being a grossly better game than its predecessor in all regards. GT5 has taken nearly 6 years to make, so I would hope that all these extra features would make it into the final product... because if all they spent that time on was matching Forza, they didn't need to waste 4 years.
I personally don't think development team size makes much of a difference. It all depends on the skill of the team itself. I would posit that less time to make a quality product is more noteworthy than lots of time to make a similar quality product (if only marginally better in most areas).
GT5 was announced in 2006, Wouldn't that put dev time at 4 years?

Was Forza 3 created in a vacuum, or perhaps, perhaps, did the development of Forza 2, building an engine, making models/assets, contribute to the development of Forza 3?The big difference between these two games is the fact Forza 3 was turned out in 2 years, and ended up being a grossly better game than its predecessor in all regards. Also how does development team size not make a difference at all to how quickly a product can be made. :/

I'm pretty sure that the game was delayed so long because of the 3D integration.

You've been cynical and condescending of Gran Turismo this entire gen. That's all gravy, its your thing :). But now that we have official news of what the heck Polyphony has been up to all these years, what do you think of the product they are ready to ship in Nov. 2010? I think it's the bizness :D!
As a hardcore racing fan, are you interested in these features? Interested in the game at all?
isn't their a track editor in GT5?caseypayne69SCE president Shuhei Yoshida said there will be a "track creator" and you will be able to share them online. He better not be lying :|. This is a HUGE feature for a game of this magnitude.
1080p 2xAA 60fps
720p 4xAA
720p Stereoscopic 3D
why so many resolutions? I understand the 3d, is it 720 only when in 3d?
I'm more interested in GT5 vs FM4, which is slated for a 2011 release.

3 Forza's in 1 gen? If MS wants that franchise to be long running they'd better give it a break for a while :?
[QUOTE="Wassmansdorff"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]Unfortunately for you, GT5 online will be much superior. Each player has own profile, where you can check the progress in the game, cars, time trials and see what theyre doing. You can also spectate their race. Also, 16 players in each race, compared to 8. Solid lobbies, and lots of stuff, as said in OT. Well, it better be considering this was suppose to be a launch title. It has been four years so far, and we're approaching year five. For a racing game. No, For THE racing game.my fact sheet.
online pedegree forza series: forza 1, forza 2, forza 3.
online pedegree gt series: gt prologue.
if that is not enough to tell you what the dif between these two series will be like then i don't know what else to tell you.
although if you are not into online then you should be golden with gt5

Yes. I mentioned all the different resolutions because the Anti Aliasing changes for each resolution But yeah, 3D is only available in 720p, but I'm not 100% sure if it has 2xAA or no AA when in 3D mode.1080p 2xAA 60fps

Yeah, it reminds me of an Activision series to be honest. First 2 where great imo, but behond that honestly I think the gap between 2 and 3 was minimal.[QUOTE="topgunmv"] Yes. Personally I much preferred 3 - I think it improved almost every aspect of 2 - and added lots of good features. But a Forza every 2 years could be too much - although I can see it being another quality title - Turn 10 are brilliant developers. I would LOVE another PGR though....[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]Was Forza 3 created in a vacuum, or perhaps, perhaps, did the development of Forza 2, building an engine, making models/assets, contribute to the development of Forza 3?

I read "quality product" I still don't see how development team size doesn't make a difference at all to how quickly a "quality product" can be made.
That wasn't the point of what I wrote - I know how long Forza 2 took to make. The point was that it's somewhat disingenuous to imply that Forza 3, as a "quality product," was the product of solely two years of work by Turn 10.[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]
Forza 2 took two years to make (2 came out almost exactly 2 years after the first one). :|

Errm... a larger team means more people can work on improving the game. It's basic logic. Yes, more people doesn't guarantee improvement/quality BUT common sense says more people can lead to better production. No one mentions it because people dont know about it... either that.. or it's because "A single fact can ruin an argument" ;)That's a cool stat no one ever talks about. 3 times as many people.

Seems like people would rather post in fanboy threads than one with facts, oh well, I tried.zero_snake99
Most people know, hence the hate threads.
Only thing I am trying to decide is how early I buy a new GT wheel. It's gonna be hard to find come Nov 2nd :P
I like the one Feature Forza has over GT5, you can play the damn game. HoolaHoopManWell, i like my game to have tons over tons of high quality content, but hey, thats just me...and the rest of the gaming population
The employee list is rather slanted. The interview with Dan G. says 300 employees, but that includes people outside the company, including translation and localization staff, while PD's list only includes their staff.
Basically accurate otherwise, now if they could just release the damn game :x

I bought my Driving Force GT for 50 bucks refurb. It works flawlessly, and I use it for all my PC sims as well. The DFGT is probably as cheap as you'll get while still having a "quality" wheel. Though I wish I had a clutch =/The Turn 10 figures include all companies they outsourced work to. I know PD has 110, and an additional "small" studio thats been working on the netcode. Other than that PD has done things themselves. If I knew the figure for the "small" company, I'd include it.The employee list is rather slanted. Fact: you can't play forzaFact: Fortza motorsports is the greatest ice track racing game ever created.
Fact: GT5 is the greatest racing game that isn't out.
But really, the games cant be compared. Most of GT5 hasn't even been shown.

My fact sheet
Forza has outscored GT series since time began.
Forza has consistently improved while GT series seems stuck in nuetral improving Bullshots and adding 350 Minivans, Go Carts, Nascar and stuff you will NEVER use.
case in point..Electronic Arts walked AWAY from the Nascar Liscence.
ELECTRONIC ARTS!!! what does that say about Nascars perceived value if the greediest publisher in gaming history took a pass?
GT5 will need 10's or better to end this argument. it will need to be the end all be all of racing sims and it will be brutally compaired to Forza 3.
you wont be able to fool the gaming Press and media again with '' graphics '' like you did in 2009 with Uncharted 2.
GT5 has to deliver in all areas to even continue being a contender in this fight.
im rooting for you Polyphony Digital.
but thats all......
GT5 could be amazing although they keep adding and adding and tbh I know from experince once you add lots of stuff to the game like different vehicles etc you dont always get the right phyics, past GT games havnt always got it right, Dirt2 was laughable for their trucks etc.
Hopefully its awesome because it wont dent Forzas success :)
[QUOTE="zero_snake99"]you forgot v8 supercars for forza That's not a license they have. They only have the stock car model in which you can throw decals on.[QUOTE="Wassmansdorff"] Took me an hour initially, and I've been making revisions since yesterday... lol.

Let me fix this for you since this is a "fact" sheet. I hate to sound mean but seriously, I make a fact thread to compare FACTS not opinions, speculation or ask questions about why they added a feature.
IF you want to ask why PD added NASCAR, look into the FACTS that NASCAR is the LARGEST motorsport in the United States.
These simple things can be avoided just by doing that.
