Having owned a 360 pretty much since launch i know how good online can be with them. Just bought a PS3 and i already love it but GT5P online is just utter bunkum. Cars disappearing and dissolving into each other it's a world away from PGR4 on line. Is this going to be addressed when the game proper comes out and does anyone else have this problem?

There is no such thing as bunkum cars.. And I would say it can be a certainty that the online will be excellent in the final release.

They really need to put damage into the game, that's the only problem I have with it. Freaking children and cheap punks just use me as a wall to hit and bounce off of on sharp turns and send me spinning. It gets really irritating. Thinking about just avoiding online until I get S class and there are penalties for that stuff.

Agree....PSN Online is generally behind Xbox 1 Online levels. I would MUCH rather pay for my XBL than have free buggy rubbish. I found GT 5P so lacking in online it got me said.

Forza 2 = king of console sims by far AND online racers.

Live uses the same method of online as PSN does, P2P. Live just gives you easy access to things online. It does not help the connection or provide lag free or less lag online.

till now didnt find any huge lag online or problems.... I think its much better than i expected when i got GT5P... still then can optimise the online features and hopefully update the game with car damage to make it better...

I love GT5P its great, can't wait to get the full version next year...

Well, they did say they're adding damage via firmware sometime this year. We'll see, I just hope if they do add the damage, they do it realistically. Meaning, if I crash into a wall at 100mph+, my car isn't moving anywhere.

GT5P online racing is actually pretty good. The cars go transparent to keep people from griefing you and to protect others from you. If someone is swerving wildly they're car goes transparent. If you try to be a cheat and ride the guard rails around the track you receive an in race time penalty.

These are just temporary solutions until the damage modeling is implemented.

I think the online is fine, it's not great, but kind of hard.

Anyway they said they plan to release patches and DLC for Prologue during the course of the year!

I second that, same here. But people wont put their Fanboyism aside to admit anything of that nature.

You are right the online part of this game is terrible. It's just so frustrating. It's poor quality compared to FM2 or PGR4.

Wow you still have not gotten S Class? Playing in the PP racers online warrants you more money but they are alot harder to win. I have yet to win a 12 man race.

LMAO!! Forza 2's online racing doesn't do that. That's called lack of experience when making an online racing game. I don't expect GT5's full version to come out until next year anyways. If they can't get that mess fixed by then, they might as well remove it from the game. Of course, no online, no buy for me. That's pretty much the only reason I'd even get GT5 is because it'll be online and actually have damage. Without those, the game will be just like GT3 & GT4, only with better graphics and car models. ;)

Here now a few weeks after launch, I think I can honestly say the whole package was not really worth the price of admission. I can't see much reason to go back and play it after beating the SP "career", but I am looking forward to some DLC, which better be free.

Forza 2 and PGR 4 are far better online racers, overall.

Just go to real races. Daytona is full of kids. In real tracks, they tend to quit after the first few turns, and you can show whos the man

Yes, its quite bothersome when they are all bumping into each other, and the ghost just fixes that. The tracks arent wide enough to let many racers be on par, and people will just try to overlap their competition by crushing (at least till Q4 when damage arrives) so the ghost mode helps those of us who are actually racing and not just bumping to get an advantage.

So because the game's sequel was anounced before it was actually released makes it less of it's worth. Gears one must be a demo then because it was so short, and it was anounced as a trilogy, which you have to pay for.

Wait, what does GT5P online have to do with PSN? It's the developer's first online experience. Warhawk, Resistance, Call of Duty 4, Tekken 5, and etc have no problems. Don't try to blame PSN for it. It allows me to play any online games for free and pretty much lag free.

But, P2P algos can be different. One could be very efficient for real time and other may not be so.
